Did a trade earlier today. Was taking funds from my bank for it directly..seen it was 'unclaimed' and emailed the gal. She said she got a notice that they were tacking on $.60 fee for it and she had to accept or decline it and I didn't even have a option now on MY end to cancel the transaction. Now that was NOT supposed to start till the 3rd but already dinging me for money. Great. Grrrrrrr!! 1|1|What?!?! That is freaking ridiculous! Geez, give us our last day of normalcy.....I just sent PP to GammieSue a couple hours ago for a trade, I hope she isnt getting that same charge!|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:45:22|06/02/2009|

Personal Transactions. Fees depend on the payment source that the sender selects. The amount of the fee will be shown at the time the payment is sent. The Fee is paid by either the sender or the recipient. The sender decides who pays. 5|2|well it never showed me anything different when I sent it &|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|19:59:43|06/02/2009|

nothing to choose from on who would pay etc. Just looked like 'normal' page. What threw me for a loop it said "unclaimed" and when I emailed the gal about it (thought maybe she spelled her addy wrong) that was when she told me that paypal told her SHE had the option to accept/decline and about the fees it was deducting from my pymt to her etc. I couldn't even 'cancel' the payment from MY end like you usually can do when it says unclaimed. I am NOT the happy camper on this... 6|3|Well, this all seems like a cluttered up mess....this is getting way too complicated anymore....I guess I might be going to RME and cc/stamps for trades....I dont need to create any conflicts with good traders because of PP fees and no guidelines on how the fees will be absorbed....some will want the buyer to pay them all, some will raise their hf's and absorb them, and some will want to split them...too complicated :(|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|20:02:37|06/02/2009|

the problem lies in that paypal said June 3rd the fees start and they already started on my account today which isn't right. Also PP says I would be able to determine who pays the extra fees ..and that wasn't true either. I had nothing on ANY of my PP pages when making a payment that said anything at all about fees, choosing who pays them etc.

The paypal policy update is about as clear as mud and you truly have to 'sift' thru it to understand it all...or at least TRY to understand it...

PS...please don't take this as snippy...sure isn't meant that way. Geez..after re-reading it made me think I was snippy. YIKES!!! SOOO Sorry about that. Just trying to clear up but guess I am just making it worse. *groan*

I did the other day after I seen a post on another board. Nothing was mentioned about "fees". My main question was: Does PP have a problem with people using their site to trade coupons? He reply: No, you can keep trading coupons as in the past. I've often wondered why some traders say NOT to mention coupons if you use PP. I don't understand. This is the second time I've called to ask about using PP for coupons & was told it was fine.
The "fraudulent" term refers to porno, guns, etc. This is what I was told. Maybe I should call them again & ask about the "fees".

Read the coupon fine print. THAT is your answer. You are NOT buying coupons. You are compensating someone for their time. THAT is what you should be noting in the paypal notes screen or just leave the freaking notes box blank.

On a side note -- I sent pp this morning with no fees. 22|2|Robin as the sender which box did you check ?|teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|12:19:24|06/03/2009|

It really comes down to who you have a transaction with,do they have a business or premier account(with fees)or a personal account(no fees)I have had a premier account for about five years now and have been paying fees to receive money from anyones account(personal or business)The way I see it is if you are dealing with a trader with a business or premier account then there will be a charge to accept their money to a personal account, personal to personal should still remain the same. 24|1|Personal account, I clicked on Cash Advance|whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|13:14:42|06/03/2009|

28|3|Who are they to say I'm not paying someone back for something? |whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|15:25:51|06/03/2009|

In fact, I read on their promo somewhere that Paypal is the way to go if you didn't have money to pay for dinner last night and a friend lent you some money - you can pay it the next day. Or a bunch of people are pitching in for a gift. Please, help me understand here, how they are going to know WHAT you are spending YOUR money on? OK, so they freeze the account. If that's the worst that can happen fine. You move all your money and go another way. It just forces a decision. But personally, I don't think THIS will be the issue. I may be wrong. I hope not... I guess we will all see. 30|4|problem is Robin, when they freeze your acct they TAKE|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|17:55:39|06/03/2009|

Posted on Jun-03-09 at 05:55 PM (Eastern) by 67.236.246.92

your money that is in there. You are not getting it back. Believe me, that IS what happens. So if it's froze you are out all the monies that was in your acct. They justify it saying they posted the rules and you broke them. They WILL be watching everyone's acct's very very carefully KNOWING people are PO'd over this and going to try to do the cash advance. That is pretty much a 'given' and I sure wouldn't want to jepardize any monies I had in my pp acct just to save a few cents in transactions at this point... 31|5|They can't keep your money. I am the most cynical person in the world, but there is no way you can convince me that they will take and keep you money. I'm sorry...|whitmarg|robin@whitmannet.com|22:12:36|06/03/2009|

I'm sure I'll get a ton of messages now from people who this has happened to... and then I guess I will have to back down. But seriously, has anyone on here ever personally (not a story from a friend who knew this guy who had a friend...) had their funds confiscated by PayPal?
32|6|yes...me. ...read inside...|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|08:03:34|06/04/2009|

Posted on Jun-04-09 at 08:03 AM (Eastern) by 67.236.246.92

when they froze my acct over that incident that happened to me (someone sent pymt to me ..was confused and put ciggy/tobacco mentioned on it but wasn't for that..so they "got" me on the ciggy thing even though I explained the situation and i was NOT in the wrong on this)... they stated on the phone and on the site they would freeze and confiscate my funds.

There was a page that came up when I logged in..no way past it..HAD to check I accepted their terms and stated that if account was confiscated and closed I would lose my funds. Period.

Paypal has ripped TONS of people off over the years and had lots of lawsuits over this type of thing, but they are sooo huge and have the big money attorneys it never gets anywhere. Good reason to never keep any big amounts of money in paypal. There are quite a few sites online dedicated to posting the lawsuites and problems people have or have had with paypal..just do a 'google' on it and they will come up. 33|6|Robin, I was thinking your question might be one only a bad trader could answer.
