I knew I was proud and I knew it may be a weepy day, but wow, I can't even tell you how filled my heart is today. I sat and wrote him a note this afternoon and put it one of his cards. I watched him read it and his eyes got a little misty and he just reached over and gave me this big hug. That was the BEST moment of the day. This kid... wow... he wants to change the world. Sometimes I just feel like the walking talking wallet, but days like this you forget about that (well, maybe..)
He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a BA in Political Science. He is now in the process of applying to grad schools. He has been studying the politics and economics of the Middle East. He's going to be applying to universities in that area of the world (groan...). Probably won't make it for the fall semester as it is getting late, so he's aiming for the winter semester. I'm okay with that because it means he'll be home for a while!!!
He'd like to be an economic forecaster (like Allen Greenspan used to be) in the Middle East.
