now the union is talking STRIKE.......... instead of lay off...........hub was told a few weeks ago...that last week.........or this week...they would

most likely be laid off.........well..........now.......the word is they are going on strike... come monday morning.......if the contract isnt renewed at what they are expecting..........

main company...is wanting ALL the guys to agree to a $3 per hour.......PAY CUT.......now who the h--- is gonna agree to losing $120.00 per week.........

so tuesday nites union meeting they were told.........if they dont agree to their terms.......come monday morning all the guys will be striking................

which means..........NO INCOME WHATSO EVER...........at least with a lay off.........we would be able to draw some unemployment............just when i thought we

were getting on top of things.........now this........

so.........i guess we wait till sunday nite and see what happens......... 1|1|so many people are in this position...|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|08:17:48|05/28/2009|

Actually, I think MOST people would agree to a pay cut rather than losing their jobs completely. If you're making $15 an hour, $12 an hour is a whole lot better than nothing.

It amazes me that so many workers think they can play tough with employers these days. Surely they must realize how many, many people would love to have their jobs -- even at less money. 2|1|I am AMAZED that any union would put their people in this position.Even the auto workers are agreeing to pay cuts just to keep their companies open and their people working|suezz|clearys@comcast.net|08:33:09|05/28/2009|

My hubby's union hall was in the same spot in March but the employers ended up agreeing with the terms and accepted the 2% pay raise that he got. Hoping all works out in the end for your family. 5|4|Hey, OT..sorry...you are just north of me! :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:46:46|05/28/2009|
