I keep getting letters from incarcerated men.
Someone put my name on a prison newsletter somewhere saying that I"m looking for black male prisoners to have relations or be a pen pal to.
It's getting scary now since many of these guys are getting out of prison and hope to come and meet me.
Does anyone know of any newsletters or pen pal lists that I might find myself on?
My kids have been told don't answer the door if anyone comes just in case they turn violent.
The one guy wrote and said he lives about 10 minutes away from me.
When I spoke to one of the police officers here in town he told me to call the prisons and ask them to find out where they got my name.
The problem is I"d have quite a huge phone bill if I had to call every prison.
Many of them aren't in Pa.
any help or suggestions is appreciated.
thanks...Maureen

Most prisons have a web info page (lists vistation info, etc) and they should have the warden's email address on the page. You could try to send a letter to the wardens about it and see if that works.

Just do a generic search using the prisons full name and a jail info (or something like that) should be one of the links that comes up.

If any are federal prisions, you can send me a list and I can see if they are listed in one of my directories. (I work in a law office) I would not have state listings except for Virginia.

Why don't you take each piece of mail you receive and write "Return to Sender - Unkown Person" and stick it back in the mail. I don't know if they would get mail back but maybe they would and then they wouldn't persue trying to visit when they are out.

I feel for you. I don't know what I would do if I were in your shoes. Good Luck!

Thanks!

id say your best bet is to write the warden........explain the situation........or.......u could put their letter back in the mail.........write that this person does

not live at this address.............or say.........this person is deceased..........cause they tend to pass addresses arount to their buddys.........might keep someone from writing again

you could be blunt........say u dont know where they got your info..........but do not write u again or you will contact the prison........if they are about to get out......

they wont want anything interferring with that........ 7|1|i would start with local police or sherriff actual go in and talk to a detective, see what advice he/she gives you next i would go to local jail set an appointment with warden or any one they are willling to set with|crazymomx2|crazymomx3girls@hotmail.com|10:24:39|05/24/2009|

i would keep the mail untill as this is proof,do you know who would do such a thing if so try contacting that person to see wher they did it this is very scary,i would be affraid as you do not know what crimes they have committed,i would keep going till you acctully see your name removed from a list if all else fails and you could do it i would move. 8|1|My DD spent 2 years in prison. Look the prison up on the internet to find the wardens name and the mailing address. Write a letter from yourself to the warden explaining the situation and include the unopened letters that were sent to you. You may have to do this a few times, but it will stop. Hope this helps!
