when my hubby retired and went on medicare I lost all my insurance, I'm 61 and take meds for high blood presure and high cholesterol the policy I would be getting is $2500.00 deductable pays for hospital and surgery 2 office call a yr($20 co pay) and pap and mamagram. I have never had to buy insurance as hubby or me always had it does this sound like a good deal. I worry about not having insurance and getting sick. any input would be apprecated, Linda 1|1|company's name is Reserve National|LindaOh|Martinl3@roadrunner.com|16:37:20|05/20/2009|

they have several for older people and say they give you a good deal. Not sure I have no insurance and do not intend to get any and I will be 65 in July. I have turned it down because they want to take $100.00 a month our of my check. My check is only $355. 00 a month now, so why would I want insurance take out of my check each month. I would check around before you make the choice.

alot of individual insurance companies will not even insure you if you take blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication and/or other medications.

I was shopping price, too, until I found out there was alot more to it.

Buying individual health insurance is very difficult. Even the application with AARP asks for every detail of your health history. They do not have to accept you if they do not like what they see. 4|2|I've had a lot of people say AARP won't pay|LindaOh|Martinl3@roadrunner.com|17:54:37|05/20/2009|

also thats true about insurance not taking you with health issues I also take thyriod meds and Nexium I wouldn't be insured for those I figured they would probaly not put me in the hospital,I worry most about a heart attack or something major like that my mother and hubby were both in the hospital this winter and the bill was over $35,000 for each of them for 1 week just the regular not ICU,my mom's ER bill was almost $3,000. because she said she had a head ache they of course did a MRA she just has medicare so has all these bills she has to pay,Linda
