6 0|0|Anyone ever order from SpringHill Nursery?|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|08:37:01|05/20/2009|

If so, what was your experience, good/bad, w/them please?
I placed an order back in mid-March for a couple reblooming lilacs. Upon confirmation of my order, it said the expected delivery date was for around the 1st part of May. When I checked on the status earlier this month, it then said expected delivery date was for around the 1st part of June. Just checked again now & it's been bumped even farther to around mid to late June. I'm getting disgusted w/their repeated changes in the delivery date & am serious thinking of calling them & just cancelling the order....
Is it unusual for a business like that to keep changing shipping & delivery dates?
Thanks! :)

I have not ordered from them in years as we now have a local nursery with great prices and guarantees.

After reading the feedback reviews, I decided to cancel my order so just got off the phone w/them. Contacted my bank 1st tho, to make sure SpringHill doesn't try anything shady w/my card info. ;)

3|1|Hmm, how strange. I absolutely love Springhill. I order from them every year and and have yet to have a problem. Their specials are fantastic. Plants of great quality. Springhill is my favorite company for ordereing plants.|Ranalt|ainebailey@gmail.com|12:29:37|05/20/2009|

4|2|It's been several years, but I had no problem when I ordered from them....of course, customer service does change sometimes....one thought, they only ship to you based on your zone and when it would be appropriate to plant....do you think they postponed based on that? You are in my zone, and I dont think I would have planted them prior to Mother's Day....|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:14:10|05/20/2009|

& then reading all those negative comments, I decided it wasn't worth risking so opted to cancel. Couldn't believe they had so many more negative comments than positive in just the past year! Sheesh!
I knew places that like ship based on a person's zone & I can understand that. What they need to do in that case is to make sure they get their shipping schedules to coincide w/the zones right off the bat then so there isn't so many changes/delays. What clinched it for me is reading comments of how people were charged so many months before items were shipped & then too, receiving dead/dying plants or plants that never grew. Granted, some customers just don't have a green thumb but to receive plants that were already DOA or dying when received just didn't seem worth the risk to me, kwim? ;)

6|4|A bit off topic, but you know, I often wonder how many people get root stock and think they are dead little sticks, lol....I almost made that error when I got some flowering dogwood hedge from a catalog....when they came, they looked like twigs....no sticks, no traditional roots visible.....I thought what the heck, planted them anyway....4-5 months later those sticks had become a respectable hedge! :) They are HUGE now, thick, gorgeous...I have to trim them 4-5 times a year.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:57:13|05/20/2009|
