One of the things my boys like is pancakes and I found a whole wheat mix at the health food store; any way, I make them smiley face cakes and they get a real kick out of them...
After you get the batter ready and heat the skillet, I start with a serving spoon and put two small blops of batter for the two eyes and then try the best I can to draw a smile with batter. Wait til this part is cooked and then spoon batter over the tiny cakes to make the actual face (the size of a normal pancake).
When you flip it over, you will see the eyes and mouth because they are darker, yet for some reason that part never burns. My friend makes the eyes/mouth in a different color batter but I don't like to add dye to their food; plus that is two bowls, two spoons and I am too hungry by then to mess around :) 5|1|these are too cute!
