I use Frontline Plus on my little dog but I also treat my entire yard w/stuff called Seven or Eliminator cuz there are some stray dogs & cats that tend to wander into my yard from time to time & can drop fleas & ticks. Walmart carries both the Seven & Eliminator in the Lawn & Garden dept. Alot of campers use it on/around their campsites. It repels numerous types of buggers, including but not limited to: fleas, several different kinds of ticks, lice, ants, earwigs, several different kinds of beetles, spiders, mosquitoes, gnats, etc., etc. Right now is an opportune time to apply it as the bugs are starting to kick up. It works for at least a few months. I can't remember which offhand but I believe one or the other requires watering the yard after applying so the chemicals from the granules get released into the soil to help better repel. If you don't want to water your lawn or can't, you can apply it just before it rains.
1st, I use BugStop (I wear a mask while applying) inside my house, all along the baseboards & in the basement along the foundation cuz if you treat the outside w/out treating the inside 1st, the bugs will come in from the outside.
The only bug I care to see is a DEAD bug so this is what works best for me. ;)
