I tell ya, that Birders Choice birdfood must have birdnip & squirrelnip in it or something cuz I'm seeing all kinds of birds (Blue finches?, Goldfinches, Red-breasted Grosbeaks, Orioles, Chickadees & Cardinals in addition to some others I can't yet I.D. & the usual sparrows, etc.). Those & the squirrels are just crazy for that food but it's awesome! :)

2|2|The finches love thistle.....the larger birds like the cardinals and blue jays love the sunflower seeds....safflower is good to attract smaller songbirds too...get a nice mix of those and you'll have a nice variety :) We've got the nuthatches, the woodpeckers, juncoes, cowbirds....along with the regular bunches of cardinals, bluejays, grackles, doves, 3 or 4 kinds of sparrows, chickadees....I just love watching them out the front window :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:59:40|05/07/2009|

which is odd cuz for awhile, they'd to zoom right in when I put pnuts on the squirrel feeders. Oh yes, I have Doves out here too, Robins & plenty of those pesky/piggy Grackles. They're the ones guaranteed to crap on freshly washed windows & laundry on the line. :-p

Apparently, it prefers to eat in solitude as I noticed it would fly up into the tree or to the top of the shephards hook & wait til the feeders were mostly clear of other birds, then back to the feeders. It must not eat much either as it was only feeding for a few minutes. I keep hoping it'll come around or hang around long enough for my son to see it but so far it's been for my eyes only.
