He was in a farming accident yesterday with Anhydrous Ammonia. The valve was faulty and he was hit with it chest, upper arm, face, throat, mouth..luckily they said it didn't get into his lungs somehow. Like most farmers, he was by himself but was lucky enough to be able to use his cell phone to call for help.<P>He was medivac'd (helicoptered) out to Ft Wayne, IN to the burn specialist hospital up there. Last night they had him in serious condition and in a induced coma. However, a bit ago, we found out they have upgraded him to critical condition and he has a infection now and is life and death situation with him at this time.<P>They are not sure if the valve on the ammonia was faulty or just messed up due to someone trying to steal it for meth use etc. <P>Hubby and Pete just shot at a bow tournament together last weekend. Never know how life will go when things like this happen so quickly. Give your loved ones a BIG hug and tell them you love them right now!<P>Any prayers you can say would be greatly appreciated. Next few days will be critical to see if he makes it or not. As soon as he comes in, I will ask if he has gotten a update on Pete yet. Going to be a long battle even if he is doing better. That is sooo horrific to me ..having to go thru all that pain for debriding the wounds and not sure if he will have to have pressure bandages on face, hands etc as well or other surgeries later for skin grafts and so on. Of course, he will definately have to be much stronger and stable etc but being a nurse you know that. :) See..it's just the medical 'mom' in me with these girls and all. Geez...lol

Also hubby said he got a email bit ago from a mutual friend of his and Pete's (works for sheriffs dept so gets more info I guess) said that seems infection is gone and drs said he might not have to have plastic surgery and lungs are OK. <P>Prayers are working!! Thanks SOOO much again for prayers for him and keep them coming! He is not 'out of the woods' yet of course..looong haul yet for burn victims. Continued prayers are MUCH appreciated and hubby is going to text Pete's wife and let them know you all are still praying for him. :)

He bounced back and today they finally were able to release him from the hospital! Just a week or so ago, he faltered and was back on the vent yet again, so THANK YOU!! again for all your support for him. <P>Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he has a looong road ahead of him. Not sure if they are going to have to do skin grafts yet in the future etc but if more info comes my way on any of that, will post it here. Thanks BUNCHES again everyone!
