last year and WOW ! He was a while geting rid of it too . It was on his leg and was so deep with infection . He never had anything wrong with him and he is only 30 yrs. old. That stuff threw him for a loop . It made me hurt just looking at it . But thankfully it got better with all the medicine and many trips to the doctor. The bad thing is if you get it , you are more likely to get it again . That is what I have been told . Has anyone else ever had this MRSA ? Bad stuff I'm telling you ladies . You do NOT want it . took a couple years to get rid of it. Was contained to her trach site is what they told me from cultures I guess but that was a few years back. Most people get it from long term hospital stays and she was in the hospital for a month when she got it. She is negative for it now and has been for a few years now. and in my opinion was used as bio-weapon/bio-terror to put fear in the masses, possibly forced vaccinations, including possible martial law as we're moving towards Socialism/Fascism and of course NWO that we hear often. Very scary times we live in. I'm so disgusted how much govt., is intruding in our lives, including more and more police state - very bad. God help us all. Next time with the flu epidemic will be chaos for sure. The last flu pandemic was the Hong Kong flu back in 1968 when I was 12 and got very sick, where thousands died, but no forced vaccinations, "WHO" people who would've placed it at level 6 by today's standards, so time sure has changed. Every year around 36,000 die from regular flu season, so the mainstream media really blew this out of control. I agree that it seems to have been overblown at this point, but I was curious as to WHY exactly it is considered a potentially scary flu. Here's what I found from a Long Island paper.
About 35,000 people die of influenza every year in the U.S. So why is the current outbreak of swine flu so scary?
IT'S A NEW FLU STRAIN. And it contains genetic material from pigs, birds and humans. No one has immune protection, and it's contagious like any other flu virus. It's unclear which of these contributors is the most infectious component, so it's hard to develop a vaccine.
IT IS AFFECTING A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE. Many victims so far have been aged 18-40 - not necessarily the very young and old victims usually associated with flu deaths. It's the same age group that was devastated by the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918, which killed at least 40 million people worldwide.
THE TIMING IS BAD. Because it's the end of the seasonal flu season, some fear that this strain may lie dormant over the summer, then roar back this fall (just what occurred in 1918, as well in major flu outbreaks in 1957 and 1968).
THERE'S NO VACCINE. So there's really nothing now you can take now to definitely prevent the virus. It'll be months before a vaccine is developed and ready for use.
IT MAY BECOME PANDEMIC. It's showing up in several countries and scientists don't know how quickly it can move from person to person. Historically, pandemics have killed millions of people (and sickened even more).
