Of course, the warranty just expired and now my dishwasher is acting funny. I noticed a film on the door and around the inside but really didn't think too much of it. All my glasses on the top shelf are cloudy, clean but cloudy. I put them on the bottom, thinking the problem was on top and the same thing. I refilled my rinse spot and added a new rinse basket ( the little basket of cascade), and redid - the same thing. The plates and utensils come out clean and it seems that the glasses are clean as well, only have that cloudy residue on them. The same with plastic containers. I know that some years back, some were complaining that the electrasol dishwasher packets were not melting and they were having problems with their machines. I haven't bought dishwaher detergent for 2 years now and have another 2 years stockpiled - is it possible that the detergent is bad? Before I asked my hubby to open it up and check it out, I wanted to see if anyone had similar stories. Thanks for your help!
1|1|When is the last time you cleaned the dishwasher? Like with LemiShine or Dishwasher Magic? That helps eliminate the hard water and mineral deposits, so maybe the rinse agent isnt working as well due to an excess of deposits in the water lines,etc? So much for your advice,- it worked beautifully and my glasses are beautiful again! I was ready to get hubby to take it apart - glad i posted here! we never had the rust and film on glasses etc. I use the orange blossom electrosol gel thingys and after talking to repairman (problems with it turning on since we bought it)he said that is due to the citrus in the thingys. Keeps that all cleaned out.
So might add some lemon juice to it each time you run the dishwasher..wouldn't take much and you can get it cheap at the dollar or discount grocery stores.

grit on my glasses etc. Same thing with the washer and clothes and now we even have soft water to boot. That powder stuff just doesn't dissolve well and after time it actually builds up in the pipes. (think like cholesterol building up in your arteries). I have been told that by a number of professionals over the years.
Now I stick to the gel packets or liquid with the citrus in it and no problems so far. Good to go!:)
