i got a suprize in todays mail from a sweepstakes......set of expensive makeup......french i think........worth over $100
also got a winning email..i have won some type of learning toy............
won a book,a cd..........and 2 tickets to some concert in chicago......since they were non transferrable and i couldnt go..i didnt reply...... won all that last week

I've wanted to get into entering the sweeps several times but what keeps holding me back or changing my mind, is that reporting these wins and having to pay taxes on these wins. I recently read an article in the RC magazine from a trader about having to report these.. It just seems like a lot of hassle and trouble if so and my husband would flip about it.. :(

He's won alot of little stuff under $600 But this trip was valued at a few thousand now he is sorry he won Cos ended up having to pay up front $350 in Ca taxes plus will have to claim it on his taxes. He has to take the trip and can't transfer it to anyone etc. So make sure when entering contests its something you REALLY would want. We wanted to make it a familut trip but have to pay for an additional person so it will end up costing ALOT
