27 0|0|Rain, rain go away!|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|08:42:17|04/27/2009|
It's been raining &/or storming here w/barely a break since Fri. evening. :( It was quite dry w/fire warnings/burning bans before this wkend so we needed SOME rain but now we're getting too much. Is there no happy medium?
Flood/Flash Flood watches & warnings were issued yesterday. Please pray for those who are in flood prone areas cuz even if they're lucky enough not be affected too much, they're no doubt still very frightened & sitting on pins & needles due to severe flooding last year & just 9 months before that.
In Aug. '07 & again in May '08, several area communities in IA, MN & WI were just about wiped out by flooding, including many homes, personal possessions, businesses & crops being lost or severely damaged. Lake Delton in WI Dells was wiped out. :(

In seriousness though, I do hope that those who will be affected by the flooding will be safe...

Everything is much greener, & the birds & squirrels sure seem to be enjoying it, but there's definitely too much of a good thing......
Trying to work up the courage to check my basement for leakage. Just got rain gutters & downspouts put up last week so hopefully they've been doing their job. ;)
