I started a blog a few months ago and now the local news wants to talk to me about 5 to 10 things we overpay for (not couponers but non couponers), I am freezing up thinking of things, but here is my list (and I am guessing she means what we can actually get free that people pay fullprice for but I suppose anything would count)
toothpaste
shampoo
razors
make-up (when CVS & Wags have their clearance sales it is practically free)
Glade Candles
Band aids
Cleaning products
That is all i have, I have stockpiles of things in the pantry and closets but that is not a regular thing, like mac & cheese may be on sale one week with coupons and i can stockpile, I can not think of any foods that are always cheap or free and people don't pay any attention?

For my family, pizza is a "treat" but it means I got a good deal on frozen pizzas; for some people they just pick up the phone and call for delivery.
This is one example where you could say you can save xx dollars per week/per year like that Walmart commercial. If you eat pizza once a week (we do not, lol) and delivery is 15.00 with tip, you can buy a fairly good family size frozen pizza on sale for $4.00... that is a savings of $11.00 per week or $572 per year if my math is correct...

I haven't "had" to buy laundry soap in years. I pick up a few when they are at rock bottom price with coupons/doubles and often catalinas. In fact, I was just looking at deals for my parents and realized I can get ALL brand soap for less than $1, a price that "I" had not been all that jazzed about since I had so much on hand. Now if it was fifty cents a bottle, I would go crazy buying again, LOL! Couponing changes your perspective on what is a "sale price".

Tuna fish sales are periodic--there is always at least one store where solid albacore is $1.00 or less. If you don't have a buffer supply of at least a few cans you will get it off sale ($2.49 for the better brands) at a local store if you really need some--I've certainly seen it in carts of the clueless. The same is true for Kellogg's cereals--in any 2-week interval the kind I like is on sale somewhere for $2.00 to $2.50 before coupons but sometimes both cereal and tuna are in surprising places for bad shoppers:Walgreens or Rite-Aid. These two have 4/20 coupons for many weekends, which only makes it cheaper.
Bodywash and toothbrushes are easy to stockpile using rebates, they're often moneymakers with coupons.
Pet food often has excellent coupons but it may be easier for dog owners, cats have their own preferences.
Another easy way to do better when shopping is to read the sale circular--it's anything but junk mail.
