2|1|Is your son involved in school sports? He could ask any of the athletic coaches or his PE teacher for information, printouts, website links, etc. :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|09:17:02|04/24/2009|

7|3|Oh, I'm sorry, I didnt even think of that! Do you have a community health club, like a YMCA? They might be able to help him with a plan that is appropriate for his age and physical development :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:02:27|04/24/2009|

Most doctors don't recommend kids in their early teens to weight lift, since it's too stressful on their growing bones & muscles. If he decides he wants to do it anyway, I wouldn't allow him to actually lift weights until he's done resistance work against his own weight--such as push ups, dips, etc. Those aren't as harmful since it's the body's own weight it's lifting.
Good luck!

He can put them under his foot and do curls.

Plus it shouldn't cause any damage---much like push ups... it's not dead weight he's lifting. 6|2|Thank you both for the answer's I will try that first before I allow him the dumbells. He wanted the 10 pounds for each arm so I guess we should hold off thank you JEANNIE|jeannie1017|ajgsartwell@aol.com|15:20:16|04/24/2009|
