Around the end of last week, it got to where I was having hard time hearing people on the phone. Fri. morning the friend I was talking to faded so far away that we had to end our conversation cuz I could barely hear her & couldn't make out anything she said. I have a high-powered hard of hearing handset w/volume control & had to have the volume all the way up, still not hearing so great. Around the same time last week, my mom's friends began telling her they couldn't hear her very well on the phone. She has the same kind of hard of hearing handset that I do.
Ok, we've both had the phone co. guys at our houses this week trying to fix the problem, to no avail at all for my mom - I can now hear her better but it sounds like she has her hand over her mouth & she can't hear me hardly at all. When the phone co. guys were here the other day, they got another trouble call from one of my neighbors 3 houses down from me that the line there was dead.
Is it possible that something was changed at the phone co. office or maybe a line was hit/bumped somewhere (all the lines are supposed to be buried underground) & it's reduced the sound quality in our phones or lines?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this is very, very frustrating. Thanks! :)
