you would think with having four children, I would know, but had all c sections and only been in labor with misscarraiges.
My daughter saw the doctor yesterday, she is due on the 3rd of May. She is dialated to a 3 and effaced 70 percent. The doctor says she will induce her Wed. morning if she has not given birth, (this doctor induces for convienance, don't know that I like that.) Any way, do you think she will make it another week, can you stay at a 3 for that long? I am trying to figure out a way to get off work, my daughter wants me there during the birth. I am hoping she goes over the weekend, while I am off, but trying to have my bases covered.

If she DOESN'T want to go I suggest she takes it easy, little to no sex, and she drinks plenty of fluids. With several of mine I would be two or three for weeks at a time. Course I always got to the point I was ready and hurried things along lol.

Especially the fluids because that is something that many women would not think about and is really important at a time like that. The only thing that is 100% certain about labor is that it is unpredictable, but your dd can do a few things to balance things in her favor.
Also please remind her that she does not have to go along with her doctors wishes to induce. That seems a little early to do that and as long as the baby is not showing signs of distress and there is no clear medical reason to induce, they can just let nature take its course. She can ask for a second opinion, etc. My middle daughter was induced a little early and had some medical issues that we felt were related to that.
She's in my prayers this week! And early congratulations-- I can just feel your joy!

I am hoping she hangs on until Friday night, as of today, I can find no one to cover me at work the next two days. I am telling her ok, do nothing, even though she is on her feet at work still, until Friday afternoon, then you need to walk a lot, lol, easy for me to say.
She lives close to the hosp, but her doctor is just into inducing for convienance. Last time, she just asked her doctor, and she said, ok. I think it prolonged and made her labor much harder, the first time. So I am hoping she goes on her own this time.
