He has asthma and was born with a abnormal setup of major organs...perhaps your son has asthma?

She is 10 now, but when she was little she always got it,,, it seemed like everytime she got off the antibiotics she'd get sick again.... We found out when she was 1 1/2 she had kidney disease... It started as a UTI and traveled.... Once she got properly medicated and treated shes been fine... Just the occasional UTI...

My middle daughter used to have a lot of respiratory problems, especially when she was little. She has asthma and it seems to be semi controlled now (knock wood), and since we got it somewhat under control she hasn't been sick hardly at all (I can think of 2 colds this winter and they were quick recovery with no ER/DR visits. When she was little it seemed like she was almost always sick, but she has thankfully grown out of that and I sure hope that will happen with your son as well. She is 9 now.

Hang in there! I hope you can get some answers that will help your son.

I have always heard that once you develop pneumonia, it is easier to get and you are much more susceptible to get it later on. My son gets it at least twice a year. He turned 18 today and has gotten it since he was a small tot each winter.

in the lungs, it stays and can be seen on x-rays, they can actually count the number of scars in a persons lungs and see how many times they've gotten phnemona...I lost count over the years how many times my son has had it, but they confirmed from the x-rays he's had it 11 times in his life and he's alomst 22 years old. They say the scarring causes like a weak spot in the lung and most times phnemona will show up again over a existing scar in the lungs, so they are prone to it again.
