It looks like you can order free info about various cities in the Black Hills. It's beautiful out there, and lots to do! I used to live between Rapid City and Sturgis for 17 years (left there 3 years ago and am back in MN).

they filmed the movie dances with wolves starring kevin kostner,checked out the crazy horse monument, mount rushmore.. it is beautiful out there and have been to south dakota several times...also traveled over to hulett wyoming for the day and saw the devils tower- where they filmed close encounters...Next time I go I would like to visit a indian reservation, that is on my to do list..and sturgis is always a blast but that does'nt happen till summer..
** There is soo much to see and do even a week out there is never enough time, above are all my favorite stops and I visit them everytime I go. The slot machines I love to play in deadwood, I win moola everytime I visit and they have a real life sheriff pistol packing and dressed up in western gear and if you see him take a picture with him, very cool!!And yes the pistol is loaded,sheriff in town is not just for show,he's a real man of the law.they also have a museum there is deadwood but everytime I been there I usually show up in the late afternoon and it is closed, I must see that one day too..Many pawn shops and antique shops out there and will have good deals on stuff as well..
