2|1|Hey Michelle|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|10:42:35|04/08/2009|
Michelle,
It seems over the past few months you have asked for assistance quite a few times. The board has been overly generous time after time myself included. I guess I feel like it's time for you to stand on your own girlfriend. Teach your son the true meaning of Easter (depending on your beliefs). At a time where there are people struggling to find money for food and other necessities an Easter basket just doesn't make the list all the time. I'm not trying to hurt your son or yourself. I just think knowing you have these special days and holidays coming you should some how try to prepare either by doing something small financially ahead of time to cover yourself or by preparing your children. With seven kids, two households currently, and only one income stretching the dollar has a totally new meaning here. But my kids know the true meaning of Easter. And they also know they each get maybe a $5 toy in their basket and a little bit of candy.

3|2|I do an egg hunt with clues, and I spend time making rhymes, etc for where to find the next clue|sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|11:01:59|04/08/2009|
I put the clues in plastic eggs, number them and have a list as to where the eggs are hidden. I set it up after church while DS 9 sits outside. We do it after church and at the end is the basket, which really has very little in it, some stuff I picked up cheap during the year.
surely you have cake mix in the house to make cupcakes or rice crispy treats or something like that for a basket.
My DS 9 said he didn't care about the basket, but LOVED the hunt.
Spend some time and make up the clues your son will LOVE it!!! It's fun watching them figure it out!
Here's an example: "It could be a liquid, gas or solid. Here it is a solid "--- the egg is in the freezer

7|3|Michelle.......Please Read|littlewolf|CCsuterlab@aol.com|11:33:38|04/08/2009|
Hi!! I do not know anything about the help you have asked for in the past as I do not keep up with each & every post. With that said, I do know how special a 16th birthday is for someone. Please email me your address & I will get a card out to your oldest son. If you like, I will send an Easter card out to your youngest son as well. It may not get there in time though.
As someone mentioned above, life is hard on everyone right now BUT we can still do small things to help each other. Even if it is just an encouraging word OR an e-card to someone that is feeling down. I just do not understand being "harsh" with anyone that needs a "boost" right now.
Here are some thoughts for Easter things that you can do for your youngest:
You should be able to find something among them that you can make with things that you have around the house....

Hope that helps some!!!

And you are right. I did have two auction that I got help with from traders. I am
very thankful for that. It helped save my house from back taxes. I was short and the
auction help me out. I am grateful. More then you know.
When you said I should not have asked for help again, I asked for the posted
to be deleted. I deleted what I could. I am not able to delete the whole
ad or I would.
I do not want bad feeling from the trading board. I trade for my coupons
from this site. I get coupons from here when I can afford too. The women
on here have helped me save alot of money with my grocery bills.
I am very sorry I asked for help. Please forgive me. I know there are people
worst off then me.
And yes my youngest birthday was in jan. Thanks for all that sent cards.
It meant the world to me and him. My oldest will turn 16 on 4/18. I will
not ask for a card shower for him, since I got help with the youngest.
I just want you all to know I am thankful to all that helped me in the pass.
Thanks
Michelle
18|2|I never post in General chat but........|Barbie|BHumphries@charter.net|12:50:10|04/08/2009|
Shelley,
You do have some terrific friends here. I just did a random check of your posts in General Chat. It seems that every one post that you have written is either thanking your friends for something or asking for something.
I understand hard times. I have had a DH with cancer and been a single mom. I had to tell my oldest that there would be NO birthday, valentine's day and Easter all in one year.
Dear, I know how it feels to think that everything is against you. However, you can't expect others to keep you afloat (so to speak). Have you ever heard the phrase, "Give a man a fish, he will eat one day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat forever."? Well I think your friends are trying to teach you how to fish. I honestly don't mean to sound harsh to you. I do mean to sound firm though. You have know about Easter, Birthdays, taxes and such for a long time. I know things happen to people but you can pick up a .25 or .50 item and keep it back. I picked up a couple of Valentine's Day baskets at CVS after Valentines Day for 90% off. I payed a total of .99 for a nice basket with a white teddy bear and candy in it. I froze the candy and added another colored boy and some saran wrap. Got myself a nice basket for my grandson for less than a couple of bucks.
Good luck to you dear.

but yet you see posts about expensive gifts her DH chas given her and even had the guts to bid on auctions a week after haveing an angel anvie auction held for her Michele held actions of her own with a lil help from those who could or wanted to help bids were made and there was a winner not much different than any other auction People ask for card showers all the time nothing wrong with it she shouldn't feel ashamed to ask for one If anyone doesn't want to help in any way then pass over the post sorry Kristy but I don't think she deserved to be made to feel lower than she feels already 16|2|I wasn't downing the card shower at all...|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|12:47:11|04/08/2009|
I just thought asking for money again, for Easter this time, wasn't the best idea. I think Michelle needs to learn to stand on her own two feet and figure out her finances. The whole teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime instead of just giving him a fish and feeding him a meal.

22|3|i know i dont contribute much but..|noway|stormybizzles@yahoo.com|13:07:50|04/08/2009|
Kristy I think you were right to say what you did...everyone is very kind on these boards and God knows we all are having financial issues in this economy. It's not about being harsh or mean or unkind...she can totally stand on her own two feet and make this a great Easter without money. Lots of Easter activities are free like other people said. Plus this holiday isn't about material things, it's about love and family and celebrating life. 20|1|I don't think Kristy was being harsh, just truthful|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|12:58:54|04/08/2009|
Being that times are tough, if you are having a rough time, there are just some things that you can make do with what you have....like an Easter basket.
As a person who has also helped with the angel auction and her son's birthday, I begin to feel a little taken advantage of when the same person keeps posting over and over again for help. Yes, I gave without wanting anything back or expecting anything, but I gave thinking that she was worse off than I at the time. When I see one request after another, I begin to wonder what that person is doing to help themselves.

23|2|Like I sad I AM VERY SORRY..DELETE POSTING PLEASE |shelly0418|michelle0418@centurytel.net|13:39:33|04/08/2009|
I should not have posted. I am sorry. All it did was make me feel worst then I did.
Like I said Kristy you are right. I have got help in the pass. And I thank you all.
I answer some of your question...since I how feel horrible..like I did something wrong
for asking for help.
I am in northern MI. YMCA has a easter egg hunt and yes it cost $2. It is not free. I looked
for a free one. Just have not found any.
Yes I know how to manage my money. Just don't make enough to pay all my bills right now.
I go to a free service to help families manage their money and they give ideas on how to save. So
yes I do try to stand on my own two feet. I am thankful for what me and my boys have. I thank
god for what we have. I have 2 loving children.
I use coupons so much as I can to save. Do rebates when I can.
Candy...No I don't have it in my house. They don't double coupons hear. So candy is not free.
I try to buy fruit, crackers, and items like that for snacks.
Please do not say anything bad about kristy postings...she is a good person. I was wrong for asking
for help.
Michelle

I typed Bayview Michigan Easter Egg Hunt in my search engine and had quite a few hits. Looked at a few and most were free. I have no idea if they are anywhere near you or not but you could try doing that.
One church had a free easter breakfast for the kids prior to the hunt.
