most computers (especially the inexpensive ones) are sold with mega processors and lots of hard drive space, however, they are not sold with enough RAM to keep your computer up to speed if you utilize even just 1/4 of the hard drive space. if you like watching movies or have itunes or something of the sort i would DEFINATELY look into more ram. also, make sure the computer you buy CAN be upgraded with more ram. if it can't then you're stuck with a slow computer. hth and have fun shopping. :)

when we got my husband's laptop they sold us 2 sticks of RAM at $100 each, this was on a friday, on sunday it went on sale for $33 each! thankfully, best buy DID give us a refund. just be careful.
