My 10 yr. old grandson's dad was in a terrible wreck last night. He was lifelined to Methodist in Indy where he has undergone over 2 hr. of surgery so far. His prognosis is very bad. His back is broke in 3 places, arm, leg & hip broke. Spleen ruptured, liver ruptured & tramatic injury to brain & lungs along with bleeding of the brain & severe bleeding from the hip area. Threw him out of the car & it rolled over him. Please pray for my grandson as he is going to need all the prayers that he can get. Add his dad that he won't suffer & he won't be left to live the life of a vegetable. What a horrible thing as he's only 35. To make things worse,my grandson, Bryce & his dad had a fight yesterday & the last thing Bryce told his dad was I hate you & hung up on him. I keep telling him that it is ok & his dad knows that he didn't mean it. Poor kid.

Spinal cord is a mess, stomach punctured & brain is bleeding again. Also massive internal bleeding, transfusing blood as fast as he's loosing it. If he pulls through they say he is looking a many surgeries to correct problems & he will never be right again. Next 24 hr. will tell. He did respond to Bryce. Forgot liver is in such bad shape that they are having to purify his blood as it's pouring nothing but bad stuff into his system.

Pelvic is completely shattered. They are not even sure they can repair it. Between this, back & spinal cord injuries it doesn't look to promising that if he lives he will walk again. They are worried about the swellling of the brain against the nerves. Saying they could burst due to pressure & if so, he will not live. His brain has swollen completely out of his skull as of right now.

Bruce was responding last night when suddenly he freaked out & started shaking all over & wouldn't settle down, so they medicated him. Today he has no response to anything & they are rushing him into emergency surgery once again even though they said no surgeries until swelling goes down. Also his room is closed to everyone, no one can see him now. Doesn't sound good.We are waiting to hear what is going on before we decided what to do about Bryce.

Surgery could not be preformed today as Bruce's heart was to irratic. They finally got that stabalized & then found he was running a fever, so started him on antibiotics, it has now broke. His brain waves are good, but still no response. They will be doing multiple surgeries tomorrow,for bleeding on the brain, knicked bowels that are pouring poison into his system, going to try to fix pelvic bone because it is so bad that is cutting nerves & blood vessels so he continues to loose blood. Also found massive amounts of blood internally with no clue as to where it coming from, so are going to try to find it tomorrow. They say that all this might throw him into cardiac arrest but they have no choice as all these things can kill him if not fixed. also going to check out sternum to see how bad it is. No one is allowed in as he is just to critical. Still saying it is an hour to hour thing & anything can happen. He has been upgraded to critical in highest grade.Still not giving him much hope. Did not take Bryce today since he was this bad, as he wouldn't understand why he couldn't see him today since he seen him yesterday. Will take it a day at a time. It will be evening before we know anything tomorrow as they are saying it will be all day for surgeries if he can withstand them.

Bruce was taken into surgery this morning, his gall bladder was crushed so it was removed but then his lungs collapsed, they inflated them & they collapsed again. Then his blood pressure bottomed out. So surgery was cancelled. They say they have to try again tomorrow as this bowel must be fixed. Saying things are just not good. Thank you for the prayers. Bryce is doing okay, took him to his therapist today so she thinks he is doing as well as he can.

Bruce had a terrible night Mon. night, his blood pressure kept bottoming out, finally after about 8 hr. it stabilized. Took him to surgery 7 a.m. tues. morning where he managed to hold his own & they were able to fix his bowel. He is wearing a complete colostomy right now & it is not clear whether he will be able to get rid of it or not. He goes back into surgery in about 30 min. today, where they say they are going to glue, staple, pin & screw his pelvic bone together the best that they can. They are going to attach it to his backbone for stability, but say that it is in such bad shape that it cannot be fixed completely. They did get most of the exterior bleeding stopped which was coming from the hip area. If he does good today they are going to start weaning him off some of the medications to see if he will respond. It has been since Sat. since he last responded. Everything is still touchy & his chances are still pretty slim, just to many things damaged that can go wrong. Will let you know.
