My mother-in-law has breast cancer and living off of her very LITTLE short term disability. I was wanting to see if there was a way I could do a fundraiser or even benefit to help get money for her gas to get to her treatments every week and help pay for food. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know. I am in the blank about things and could really use the help right now.

She may want to check www.modestneeds.org. I had gotten help from them for an unexpected bill Also Kristy do you still do Tupperware? You know you can use the fundraiser catalog and what ever is sold 40% would go to her. A friend of mine just did a tupperware fundraiser with me and she was trying to raise money to send her daughter to camp She sent out flyers to friends and family members and it was very sucessful she raised almost all they money she needed

for treatments see if there is a social worker on staff. If not explain the problem to a nurse and they can direct you to the person you need to speak with. A social worker will have most all the groups, both local and national, that provide help. It's a really good place to start. 5|2|Kristy see inside|BusterBrown|srfreezerqueen@hotmail.com|03:47:21|03/21/2009|

not sure what state she is in....here in nj, I know there are a few odd programs set up to help with unexpected expenses. I was very fortunate and did not have to tap into either when i had my cancer. Hated to take it if i was not desperate, as I knew many needed it more than I. The hospital that i had the lumpectomy/masectomy at has a breast cancer support group-the director is phenomenal. She gave me tons of local info, as well as general info....have your mil start there or at the oncologist group that she sees.

gildas club may have resources or be able to direct her to some

sorry not to be as specific as some-I will never be that good with a computer-specially at 4 am....HTH...Jodie
