I am in need of a exercise bike to use at home
I have tried walking and my feet just cannot handle it but I need to be walking so I thought exercise bike

I do not want one that will break my bank or with all the bells and whistles--just simple

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to be looking for and what brand you would recommend and if possible a price under $100.00

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I hate to say it but it is a big cloths rack most of the time. Thankfuly I got very lucky when I bought it at kmart last year as they did not have the one in stock that was on sale other than floor model and they would not sell that to me so I just told them I would go to walmart with their add and get it there. As I was walking out of the store the guy came up to me and said look I have this one its from last year it has been sitting in the stock room and if you want it its your for 20.00 boy did I jump on that. Now its manual so that maybe why its hurts my knees but dh uses it with out a problem.|nancygal|brennansnanna@hotmail.com|20:43:53|03/19/2009|

am serious about this.

I have tried freecycle and Craigs List but did not see anything quite like what I wanted

Wal-Mart has what I want and it is 99.00 so I just have to decide if I want to spend the money or not and of course DH says maybe it will get the clothes off the floor--so you can see his attitude about this but men are men--what can you say--LOL

6|2|Betty, go ahead and get it....if you dont like it, you can return it...my mom is 84 and uses her stationary bike every day :) So :P on your hubby! LOL|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|20:10:42|03/20/2009|

That way, too, all the callouses you build up will be useful if you take the bike on a ride outside. You can get a used one, too.

I put my usual bike on a wind trainer years ago for CA winter practice, now there are magnetic trainers that are somewhat quieter. The bike is stable so you can space out without thinking about balance (unlike rollers). 11|1|so did you get a bike????????????|sknott4|lovemydogs24@gmail.com|12:09:56|03/22/2009|

I am going to really like that better than I would have the bike.

I snagged a good deal on it from my boss and it is a ProForm with all the bells and whistles I need and I got it for $50.00 so I was happy about that.

I have started using it slowly but surely and it does not bother my feet at all like regular walking does and it will take this old lady a while to get up to speed but I have a plan for using it and hope to stick with it and see how it goes.

Need all the encouragment I can get--LOL 14|2|That sounds nice, Betty :) I hope you enjoy your new 'toy'! |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|21:10:17|03/28/2009|

"Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy." 15|2|Betty, here's some advice on using your treadmill....|Sharon|s_forshee@hotmail.com|22:14:03|03/28/2009|

Start off "slow" like 10 minutes if you're not in good physical condition and walk few days a week. As you get stronger, increase 5-10 minutes weekly. I have been using my treadmill since I turned 40 back in 96' but wasn't consistent using it every day. I decided in 04' to be more serious exercising & now that I'm 52, I use my treadmill 6 days a week walking 4 miles for 75 minutes, burning off around 550 calories. I've never felt better and feel so much younger, plus I've lost 30 lbs. so far and I go to Weight Watchers meetings weekly. I have about 40 lbs. more to lose. Best of luck with your treadmill. Sharon:) 16|1|Sharon--Congrats Girl--You are doing good!!|bcmunns|bcmunns@bellsouth.net|17:39:00|03/29/2009|

Sharon,

That is so wonderful what you have accomplished using the treadmill and Weight Watchers--You should be so proud of yourself

I am going to e-mail you in a bit as I have a few questions I want to ask you and do not want to ask on the boards--

Thanks for the wonderful advice and I know I have to start at the beginning. 17|2|Thank you Betty:) nt|Sharon|s_forshee@hotmail.com|23:23:09|03/29/2009|
