Maybe a couple of French cigarettes when I was in college--part of a Halloween costume concept as 'The Existentialists.' I'll admit to a caffeine addiction. No smokers in my house growing up.
In my mother's extended family, the smokers die in their early 60's and the non-smokers live to 85-104. The longer-lived smokers were related by marriage. my mother was a smoker and a drinker and died from lung cancer at the age of 48 and I was only 12. My father smoked but quit in the 60's and now at the age of 85 in on oxygen and has a hard time breathing and doing anything. i never even took a puff - ever. both of my parents smoked - daddy cigars and mama pall mall in the red pack and i hated the smoke. i think from them time i was about 4 i decided i'd never smoke ... and i meant it. sandy
