10 0|0|Any other moms of high school senior kids on here? (M)|tammytwo|tamdesigns@mchsi.com|01:32:08|03/09/2009|
My oldest son is a senior in high school so you know what that means, we are preparing for his last day of school and going ways to college. We played our final basketball game for first place in Districts on Friday. We lost by two points after a long fought out battle. The coach had taken my son from starting the first nine games to only playing 38 seconds in his final game. Then after the game he looks at my son and says, "Oh I should have played you more." Had he rotated all of the players we could have won the game. He played the same five or six players the entire game against a team that had 10 good players and continuously rotated them to keep fresh players. Anyway, my point is I am losing my mind. I feel so depressed and uninterested in anything right now. I can't stop obsessing with the fact that he will be going away to college this summer and on my birthday to make matters worse. I know our kids have to grow up, I'm just not ready for it. I had nearly 19 years to prepare and now I'm feeling as though that wasn't enough time.

3|3|my son a senior- we'e all looking forward to college-- when we know where, LOL |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|10:58:08|03/09/2009|
He was accepted 3 schools and waiting on his first pick. I know it's a reach so will try not to be too disappointed should he not get in. He didn't play sports- except bowling captain- and really cant wait to leave HS.
He's ready to be on his own, and this will give us more time for our 9-yr old. He was great about expenses-- no HS ring- no yearbook pix (they weren't very good) just the prom in June if he gets a date! 4|1|I am so sad that my son is leaving for college also|katytibbs|denis.c@att.net|11:18:05|03/09/2009|
I have always said that "I am raising an adult, not a child", but that doesn't change the feelings
He has been accepted at a school that is 12 miles away, with a great program and a great scholarship, but doesn't want to go there because he doesn't want to see any of his current high school classmates. So, he's probably off to Northeastern or SUNY-Binghamton. I could ring his neck, but I've been telling him it's his decision and I can't take that back now.... 6|2|it sure went fast, right? |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|12:56:21|03/09/2009|
My son also accepted to Northeastern but will probably go to Penn State. he wants a chemistry program, and penn state has the best one around 5|1|MINE HAS HALF HER TOUITON PAID FOR THE MAC MAKE-UP SCHOOL SHES ALL INTO THAT SHE DOSE HAIR AND MAKE UP VERY WELL SHE CHARGERS HER FRIENDS $20 FOR MAKUP AND $25 FOR HAIR DO UPS |crazymomx2|crazymomx3girls@hotmail.com|12:42:59|03/09/2009|

Tab 9|2|Thanks for the responses (M)|tammytwo|tamdesigns@mchsi.com|14:18:22|03/10/2009|
I knew the end of basketball would be hard for me and this is the closest the team has come to going to state in nearly 35 years so I am so proud of his accomplishments as well as his teammates. We live in a fairly small town and we are very close to just about everyone. I will still go to the games next year but will want to cry every time I think about him not being there. School will be a little over three hours away so it's not like he can just stop in for the game. I know I have had nearly 19 years to prepare for his graduation day but I'm just not ready. I was just a baby myself when I had him and I feel as though we have grown up together. He has made his father and I very proud and now everyday I just hope that we have done enough to let him know that.

you really start to get used to it, and it gets easier seeing them go off on their own.
