My daughter came home from school yesterday, and started vomitting, and kepp doing it all night. My cat has gastrisis(spelling, but not the issue....LOL), and I rarely give her cat food anymore. I cook chicken etc... and mix with brown rice. Well I was out of people food to cook her, and with my daughter sick, wan't going to the store. Not even a can of tuna in the house.
THE PART THAT HAS ME MAD
She kept getting up on my coupon desk, and picking up coupons, and chewing them, and pawing thinkgs off the desk all together. I tried blocking ways, for her to get up on it, and everying else. All I did last night was clean up puke, or scream bloody murder at the cat....who by the way, is lucky she sruvived the night!
Doesn't go after anyone elses stuff, but mine. I suppose, she knows I am the chef in the house, but sheesh, was I pissed off.
Went this morning, to get some bland starter foods, for my daughter, and bought 4 cans of the all natural cat food, at 1.00 a pop. That made me even madder. But, I am not in the mood to cater to the cat, while I have a sick little one, on my hands. Thanks for the vent. Donna

5|3|My cat has been with me for 13 years. She was an adult when I got her, but still very small, from malnutrition. She was abused by her first ownders. The would hit, and kick her, when she would vomit, which is almost all the time, when she is eating cat food regularly. It was till after I got her, and took her to a vet , that I found out, she had gastritis. The answer, is to feed her home made food, or baby food. She can eat a couple of brands of organic cat food, but that is it. ALso even the organic ones will upset her, if give to her for extended periods of time. So they are used in emergencies. My point was really, it figures she would go after my coupons, and trading things. The cat is no dummy, she knows exactly what would upset me. Even though I was upset last night, She laided with me in the chair, cuddles on my blanket, while I waited for the next time my daughter got sick. Most everytime I sit on the floor to clip coupons or work on my rebates, she'll start in snitching things & running w/it. LOL She knows I don't want her to have that stuff but it's her way of getting my attention so I'll give her a treat to get her to leave me alone for a little bit.
No, animals aren't dummies & seem to be able to learn what buttons to push, unfortunately, just like our 2-legged kids. LOL I just laugh at mine, ask her if she wants a treat & then she'll drop whatever coupon, upc, form or envie she has ahold of so I have to get up then & get her a treat. LOL She gets what she wants & I get what I want. LOL Like someone else said tho, they can't talk & verbally tell us what they want so they figure out their own creative ways to do it. Just think of it as having 2 little kids, each one demanding your attention. ;) She wanted the food she's used to & that won't upset her tummy & which you are responsible for providing to her, so yes, YOU mommy, are the naughty one for not having it. :-p LOLOL
Sure hope your 2-legged daughter feels better soon! :) It's no fun to be sick or to have one of our kids be sick. :( All kinds of funky bugs are going around here lately, from the stomach flu to cough/cold/bodyaches/chills/fever to having just a couple symptoms to having ALL of the above. :(
And I'm sure sorry your kitty's previous owner was so mean. :( It drives me nuts when I hear about that happening, & I think people who abuse/mistreat helpless animals should get a taste of their own medicine!

She'll jump up in my lap & want me to pet or scratch her w/BOTH hands. Can't be just the one. :-p She watches my right arm so if I reach for the pc mouse, she uses her paw to scratch at my arm/hand so I'll let go of the mouse & pet/scratch her w/both hands. LOL Spoiled little snot she is but I don't know what I'd do w/out her. ;)

Isn't it hateful how we always want things the most when we're least supposed to have it??? LOL I imagine her tummy & tastebuds are eager for something a little more solid & w/some flavor after the vomiting & bland food. ;) I think the Jr. babyfood might work as it's a little more flavorful & solid but doesn't contain so much sugar & salt, etc. like our reg. food does so is easier on the stomach? Or even jello or chicken/beef/vegetable broth, maybe w/a plain piece of toast? It's filling yet easy on the stomach w/some flavor but not too heavy. :)
I remember when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. I wasn't supposed to eat anything hard/solid for 48 hrs., only a soft/liquid diet, & NO popcorn or anything like that lest it get into the holes in my gums & cause an infection. I've never been much of a popcorn eater so figured that would be a piece of cake. But, what do you suppose I was craving something terrible as soon as I got home? Popcorn! ROFL!!

My friend has a cat named Merlin and he is her baby....he is literally spoiled rotten...anyway....she had to go away on training for a week so she left him with a friend...anyway,,,the first night she got home he totally ignored her...and he woke her up in the morning by peeing on her head and all over her down comforter.....she was so maaaaaaaadddddd!
this cat is almost human,,,he actually meows back when you talk to him,,,,
