At 9am today he got a call from the foster folks asking if he could take in 4 little girls ages 1,2,4,5. I am not sure how I feel about this as they are going to be long term but not adoptable. 2 weeks ago they lost one of the teens as Dustin he had been part of the family almost a year. I cried all night and still feel a hole in my heart because he is gone. If he gets these little girls and they stay long term I think I would fall apart when they leave. I have 3 grandsons ,2 sons and a husband here in Ky and 4 little girls well I would be in heaven . I know my son will be a great foster dad to them but he is going to need help so I am going to no matter how I might try fall in love with these kids who are going to need extra love just because of what they already have gone thru in there little lives. So I guess what I am asking for are lots of prayers and good thoughts for all of us.Our lives are going to change and I think for the better. Foster children are lucky when they come to families like yours.
My own Grandmother had 53 foster children over the years and she adopted the last two.
While I haven't officially had foster children, I have had children come into my life for short periods of time.
It always breaks my heart when they leave, but I am thankful for the time I had with them.

I've long admired your son for his ability to selflessly give to those kids. And Justin, another birthday already? Where does the time go? Those 4 little girls will finally have a chance to be taken care of and be loved. What a break for them!

We will keep you all in prayer. There are soooo many kids in the foster system. It's soooo sad, but it's great to know that your son is making a big difference in this world. It's nice to hear stories like this. 
I hope we could also adopt one day soon... We'll see.. We're praying about it....

does break your heart when they leave but in retrospect I wouldn't trade it for the world. It was a great experience for him to have stability in his life. It was wonderful for my own son to have a brother for awhile. Both my husband and I are very glad we did it even though it was for such a short time. Kudos to him!!!

The laws are different from state to state and here in Ky a single person can become a foster yet there are folks here that are trying to get that law changed because they dont think single people make for a good family (MAKES ME SICK) anyway he told me to send you to this web site and from there they can put you on the path for your state. wecarefamilies.com that is the group he belongs to. He also said you could go to the DCBS in your state that is the DEPT Child Base Services.
