Can you give me any advice on what I should ask, what I should avoid, which companies are better.
I'll be needing a bed (maybe) a recliner, tv and kitchen set........probably a couch too.
Do you know if these places also rent things like coffee tables and lamps?
Any help would be appreciated

My understanding of the rental places are that they sock you VERY BADLY with interest charges. So your $299.00 chair that you pay 4.99 per week for will end up costing you $600 or more (just an example.) You may be far better off to get a regular credit card that has a zero balance promo for say one year or 18 months and then purchase the items on it and make payments to make SURE it is paid off in the no interest timeframe. (Most often if you do not pay it off entirely in that timeframe, they retroactively add the interest so MAKE SURE YOU PAY IT OFF BEFORE THE END OF THE PROMO.)

Good luck!

PS as far as lamps, I always have good luck w/ great clearance at Lowes. Otherwise, home decorators outlet has things pretty cheap and then you can pay off using a home depot credit card...and they do have the zero interest deals occasionally so good to call and ask them if you find some things on there. 2|1|i would only rent if i absolutely HAD too!|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|09:45:06|03/02/2009|

1st of all, they do not always give you NEW items, most are used.

2nd by the time you make the weekly payments for 4 - 6 weeks you could have bought something outright at a discount store.

in my opinion, they charge WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much $ for what you get.

if you can get by without it, save the $ you'd be spending every week on "rent" for the furniture and BUY in 1 - 3 months.

The problem with rent to own furniture is sometimes it's already been in someone else's house OR if not it's been in the room where furniture has been brought back from someone else's house and if they have any pest problems (mice, rats, roaches, fleas) they quickly become your new problem.
