24 0|0|Gov't gives AIG ANOTHER $30 billion in aid...|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|08:44:16|03/02/2009|
Posted on Mar-02-09 at 08:44 AM (Eastern) by 67.236.157.34

Never ceases to amaze me. Gov't can't give us regular people a decent refund, but after giving already $150 billion to AIG they can offer ANOTHER $30 billion to these squandering companies!! Hellloooo Mr President..what is WRONG with this picture?!!

Can't give the U.S.people decent health care, housing, Social Security checks or jobs..never the less decent amounts of unemployment monies, food stamps etc citing no monies for that...BUT can cough up BILLIONS to send to companies that squander all this money and still KEEP giving monies to them. Ugghh! Right up there with sending millions..billions..of aid over seas to other countries. Not that those people don't need help, but there are millions right here in the U.S. that need help but can't get it. Where IS this money coming from miraculously for this? If they can 'find' the money to do this, then they can FIND the money for all the things the U.S. citizens need. Anyone else find this appalling? Not trying to start a arguement but just can never get over where money just comes out of the woodwork for other things but not for the average US citizen that needs help... 1|1|yeah, and hillary clinton is going to gaza (or something) to offer 900 MILLION in aid? excuse me?|pussecat|pu55ecat@aol.com|08:59:52|03/02/2009|

The local bs here was that Head Start program was getting several million dollars to target a very small number of children. It calculated out that each child would get almost $100,000 for funding. My theory was, give the families the $100,000 and they would surely be able to buy some great preschooling for their kid (and buy a nice house in a nice neighborhood to boot!)

Obviously we need some coupon clippers running our government!

I meant stimulates.
Anything that is spend, stimulates economy.

16|2|But that is not smart spending no matter how to slice it....a one time expenditure (frivolous!) of that party doesnt really do much to keep a sinking economy stimulated.....that much money could have gone towards more bang for the buck and had more impact. Would you spend your own money that way? Why should they spend 'our' money that way?|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:02:21|03/02/2009|

i am a registered democratic voter and voted for another candidate this year because i felt obama did (and does) not have the experiance needed to take over our country right now.

he is a FABULOUS speaker, that is for sure, but what our country needs right now is a tried and true economist! jmho

they are doing it wrong and if you don't change the way this is done we will vote you out!!! Giving every net taxpayer $20,000 would have moved the economy at least temporarily while new restructuring of our industrial base could be achieved. That is the changes coming from the bailout of the auto industry, steel and banking etc. This money would clear the backlog of autos sitting on lots so the automakers will be able to bring the new efficient stock to market unimpeded. banks would get money as people paid of debts so they could shore up there loan packages on there own or those in better shape could start making loans to people with good credit to keep other industries such as builders going. Both of these help our steel industry auto makers use it for cars and steel studs are becoming less expensive and easy to use in housing and remodeling. Imagine all the other ways thismoney would flow through americans hands.
