I'm leaving for Florida (Daytona Beach area)on the 31st of March
I'll be staying for 3 weeks
Plan on eating in most of the time.
I know that they have a Winn'Dixie/Walmart/Publix
Which of these are a better shopping experience ?
Do any of them ever double coupons ?

Which one(s) give the hardest time using coupons.
Do any of them take expired?

Last but not least are there any good coupon deals for those stores?

Thanks for your help! Mary

I live in Florida and have been all over Florida, including the area you are going to. I happen to think as alot of shoppers think Publix is the best place to shop and they are everywhere. I have never known of any major stores that take expired coupons and in fact know of none that doubles the coupons in Florida. Of course Wal Mart as all over is the cheapest but have limited amount of groceries unlike Publix. Lately Publix has gone up with high prices as I guess all have. We personally do not think too much of Winn Dixie at least the ones in our area, very high prices, dirty stores and rude help. I would recommend you buy what you can at Wal Mart and maybe finish up at Publix. There are still a FEW Albertsons around and occasionally Sweet Bay stores but do not know if they are still in the area you are going to. Sweet Bay are fairly good but high prices. Publix has alot of weekly 2 for l sales on a weekly basis, Winn Dixie also has 2 for l. But still I think your best bet is to shop at Wal Mart for some items and finish up with Publix. Not much help I know but Publix controls most of the grocery shopping in Florida. 4|2|That's how I shopped when I lived near Daytona....mainly Super Walmart and then finished up at Publix...I also shopped at SaveALot over in Holly Hill (just across the causeway on Nova Rd I believe...), they are like Aldi's and had a nice selection with good prices. |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:40:23|03/01/2009|

I absolutely love Publix. The stores are clean and the sales are good. I have always found the cashiers to be pleasant and very coupon friendly. I have never had any trouble using cpns at Publix, even if one "beeps", they push it through! They also accept other grocery store cpns, like Winn Dixie, Albertson's and Sweet Bay. They will also accept a Publix store cpn and a manufacturer's cpn for the same item, very often making it free. At the entrance of all Publix stores, there is a turnstyle where their sale circulars can be found, store cpns as well as other manufacturer's cpn if you hit it right. Expired cpns are not accepted. No doubling of cpns either. If you're lucky to hit a B1G1 FREE sale they will accept one cpn for each item. Can you tell I love Publix???? I always have a friendly shopping experience there and I hope you will too. Email me if you have any questions and maybe I can help, although I don't live in the area you are going to visit.

Mary 8|1|they have publix, winn dixie and albertson's no doubling/expireds|glennie58|glenn_scott@alumni.ksg.harvard.edu|10:43:15|03/03/2009|

at publix they are really picky about coupons and have alot of bogo sales, but have higher prices on non-sale items
at winn dixie they have lots of good meat sales
albertson's is the most expensive of all and sometimes they only let you use one winetag at a time in case you took them off the bottles in the store.

publix does not need a store card and neither does albertsons for sales but winn dixie does.

you can check their sales at the websites but saving on food is hard in florida! 9|2|winn-dixie|babykit|sket629@gmail.com|15:38:45|03/04/2009|

Be careful here if you do not get there card you pay full price for everything. no b1g1 free or sale items. so sign up for the card right away. its free and takes no time, but if you do not have it you get ripped off as do most non residents that do not know about it.
hope this helps
have fun
