Due to the nature of the circumstances I can't post the reasons why but currently we have next to no relationship with my hubby's parents. My son's 13th bday was 2/18. Thus far he received no card, no call, nothing. None of this would be really bad except for Christmas every year I give them a calendar with everyone's birthdays and anniversaries. Last year my now 13yr old did something wonderful, and hugely courageous. Unfortunately my hubby's family doesn't see it that way as he got his cousin in very deep trouble. This would all be bad enough except my hubby's family took that said cousin and his family to a hockey game the night of my son's bday. I know it's late but I'd like a card shower for my son. I'd love for him to feel as special as he truly is. I recently told a friend about his bday and the circumstances and they told him happy birthday when they saw him. He thanked me later for telling her and said it was so nice she acknowledged his bday. If anyone is willing just email me please or post and I'll get your our info asap!

Make sure to send them C.O.D. LOLOL At least that's where most of my ex's family is supposedly stowing away w/the moonshine. The few that are still around here (unfortunately), we either never hear from or only hear from when they're "three sheets to the wind", if you kwim? Been that way all along so I'd rather we didn't hear from any of them. Period. :-p The only part that's ever bothered me is that it's hurt my son but he's old enough now that he's realizing THEY'RE the ones w/the problem, not him or me, & THEY'RE the ones missing out & are the ones who will have to deal w/the regrets if they have any conscience.
My son will be turning 18 & graduating in the spring & altho it may seem a bit harsh, I'm not even going to acknowledge any of them w/a graduation announcement. Actually, I couldn't for most of them anyway as I have NO clue where they even are - no phone or address for them. I've single-handedly raised this young man w/out them so much as wishing him a Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday more than maybe a couple of times in all his years so I don't feel I need to remind them of any other important times in his life either. ;)
Send me an email w/your son's info as I'll gladly send him a card. :)
ETA: Please don't take this the wrong way. :) You have a larger family than most & it tells me that you also have a large heart w/alot of patience & love to give. Your kids are lucky to have such wonderful parents & you are all lucky to have each other. Don't worry about the in-laws & their petty garbage cuz you have so much more just in your immediate family circle than they'll ever have. :)
