I woke up this morning and found out that my 26 lb. shih tzu had gotten into my purse and ate some chocolate that was in it. I think it was about 3-6 of the little Dove bites.
I will call the vet as soon as they open, but was hoping that someone could calm me down and tell me Reba will be fine.

that he just vomits it all up if it was too much for his system and was fine afterwards! One time left pantry door open, coming home to find whole package of Choc Chips Deluxe cookies eaten, with throw-ups in 5 different places throughout the house! Another time ate a whole chocolate candy bar my hubby left on his desk, another time ate almost 20 chocolate cupcakes that I left on the kitchen island (not thinking he could reach them - boy, was I wrong), another time ate a whole bag of cocoa which ended up having diarrhea, but was fine in all cases. This dog drives me crazy stealing food whenever he can. First time owning a Lab dog, never again after this-LOL!! I'm sure your dog will be fine. He has never gotten sick. His favorite is choc chip cookies. He steals them from the daycare kids
all the time. My vet told me a little would not hurt him. It is the pure choc used for baking that
can make them sick. But if they ate a small amount of milk choc they should be fine.
