We found out today we are being cut off disability and won't get any more money. I'm stressing cause I just can't believe this crap and am wondering what's gonna happen. The disability person told Will he can appeal. Anyways here's the story, we were told a few weeks ago that Will needs to see a dr. here by the end of April, so Will told the dis. person that we are waiting for March cause we should finally be able to afford the drs etc (we have to pay cash) and the dis. person said that is fine. Well we get a call last Monday saying that he needs to have his dr. fax the dis. person and tell them that Will still can't work and it has to be in by Sun. the 22nd so our disability check won't be interrupted, SO, we tell them he doesn't have a dr. here yet and that the dis. person said we had til the end of April and now all this? The dis. person said well it has to be in yadda yadda yadda (mind you his dis. worker wasn't available fromt tues last week til today (GO FIGURE)anyways we kept getting the run around, finally we got ahold of Will's oncologist in AZ, he called us last Wed night and said he would have his staff person send the FAX and that he didn't want Will back to work at least for another 6 months or until Will saw the dr. here and heard what the new dr. would say. So the dis. people got the fax last Thursday, well they tell us it doesn't matter cause you're being cut off on Fri. the 20th and only gave us partial check on Friday. SO we get ahold of Will's dis. worker today and she tells us that oh you must've miss understood cause I said you needed to get tests done etc so you won't be cut off. BULL CRAP...I was listening when she was talking to him and we know what she said. So now we are both highly pissed off. I don't think we can afford a $5000 PETSCAN, oh unless my dog is crapping gold nuggets these days. Sorry if I sound so pissy, not trying to sound greedy or anything but I feel that they mislead Will and we have to suffer for it all. She said we can appeal it and go to a dr. here and get tests done, well we had planned on going here when he got March payment and such, but not sure we can afford the testing, gonna have to find out if they can take payments. Will said that he has no choice but is gonna have to find a job, but I'm worried he won't be able to handle his type of work due to all the stuff he has to do etc, I mean his drs. said they don't want him doing his type of job right now, so I don't know...I'm so sorry for venting, I know everyone has alot going on, I just want to runaway and hide and just cry for awhile. My heart is acting up today due to all this crap. If I'm not around for awhile, just want you all to know I just need time to think etc. Hugs, Rebekka

Thank you so much girlie, your friendship means alot to me...I wish I could find a job I could handle, I have medical problems myself (heart problems, fibro, need knee replacment surgery and other problems) boy am I falling apart or what? I can imagine the stress you are feeling. Joy is right about senator/state rep. I've talked to ours several times about their ability to cut through the red tape in disability cases, so hopefully yours will get working for you.

Also see if you can get Will a public aid medical card, I heard it is easier to get one once you get on disabilty, they usually give you no problem. Hoping you guys can find a way to get this all straightened out, I don't think it is fair what they did by canceling his checks.

Unfortunately I can't work, the last job I had was at Walmart (before that I worked in Radio) and due to leg/feet problems, I can't stand long etc. Plus I have other health problems including heart problems, so I'm gonna see if I can apply for SSI or something. As for the disability, it isn't state disability we get nor is it SSI, it's funded through his former employer Intel. So hopefully we can appeal and work it out. They did hire a company to help him get some type of Social Security, but I know it takes long maybe it will kick in soon. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, without you guys I would be a mess. I know I can always count on my RS family to be there for us....Love all of you...Hugs, Rebekka

Something is so wrong in our society when the very people these programs were put in place for are denied them. But I agree with the poster who suggested you make phone calls.......call your representatives, doctore, tv station.....whatever it takes. Just keep calling until you get someone to help you. Call your local representative. Start at the city or county level and explain your situation to them. My husband only received his disability (he is legally blind) only after we got our local representative involved. Start at the local level.
