9 0|0|got a letter from AMEX saying they closed my card|glennie58|glenn_scott@alumni.ksg.harvard.edu|17:37:05|02/19/2009|

they had like 10 stupid reasons on the letter like too many credit inquiries (I've been apartment hunting)
and no info about a loan I have out on my sleep number bed (not late, paid as usual)
and payments not big enough given how much debt I have (never late, always pay at least 10X minimum)

what is up with these lying scoundrels? I called them up to let them know that I would never apply for another amex card
(lost my jetblue points from the last 5 years dang it!) and that I knew the real reason was corporate greed and not the 10 stupid reason they said.

Maybe it did no other good than to make me feel better but at least I ssid it and it was recorded (the kid assured me it was LOL) 1|1|Geez! That's nasty! :( (m)|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|17:49:11|02/19/2009|

Just an FYI for everyone: When I went thru the 1st Time Home-Buyer seminar, it was recommended that we obtain & make copies of our own credit score/report to provide when necessary as each time there's an inquiry on your credit history, it can count against your credit score. :(
I didn't know that so was surprised but very enlightened & wanted to share that bit of info. ;)

A guy was talking about splitting from his wife and rented a new living room and bed room set.....and because he used a place like this, they cancelled his card

Thanks 3|1|Maybe I should be expecting them to cancel my account too then...I only use my AMEX card maybe 2-3 times year on small purchases to keep some activity on the account, but I use my Discover the most since it has rewards, lol. Even though I have an excellent credit rating (790) they may not want to bother with me anymore.....fine by me, but if they cancel me for such a reason, would that affect my credit score? |saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:30:55|02/20/2009|

they made me sick sick sick but I am better lol 5|2|I saw in the paper a story about AMX offering people a $300 AMX gift card, if they would pay off their balance and turn in the card. I guess they got into trouble in the last few years when the|suezz|clearys@comcast.net|15:59:43|02/25/2009|

opened up the card to more, less qualified people. For a long time AMX didn't allow balances. You paid it off every month. When they began to allow people to run balances, they thought they would get more money from the finanace charges....but they just got themselves problems

Thanks 6|3|Hmm, do you know if there is a limit to the amount you have to pay off or a time frame in which charges were accrued? Maybe I should use my card this month just to pay off the balance and get the GC, lol|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:28:33|02/25/2009|
