This after attempts to diagnose with their step by step instructions.....then I cant get the tower panel off to check connections because the yoohoo's I took it to last week stripped the screws.....now I'm waiting for info on where to take it......at least they are not too difficult to understand, it's outsourced to India, ya know! LOL

I'm sure sorry it was a lemon. :( I would've made sure to emphasize to HP how much of an inconvenience this is & will be, having to replace the hard drive this SOON on top of having to hassle w/shipping it out & then, waiting an additional 2 wks. to finally receive a replacement/repair. Hopefully your new hard drive will last ALOT longer than just a couple/few months. :-p on them!

I currently have a Dell pc but I've always held HP in high regards for the reliable quality of their peripheral hardware (printers, scanners, copiers). It's going to be a very sad day if they don't quickly realize their reputation is going to falter if they continue to use/sell reduced quality products, be it pc's or peripherals.....
As w/any products, these companies have got to realize they can't expect people to be paying the same prices for things that are no longer of the same quality....

ETA: So glad you let them know you were aware of them trying to get by w/sneaking Compaq parts into their HP machines. ;) They need to hear that consumers are not going to stand for it.

12|5|When I get my computer back, I am going to write HP an email and give them my opinion (figured I'd wait to see how the customer service and repair center service are before giving them an earful, I might have more input after all that)....I am extremely disappointed in this computer I just bought 5 months ago.....I walked into Best Buy to buy a new one and told the guy, "I'm only interested in HP".
