They are testing my one grandson for Fragile X syndrome. Having 2 special needs girls here at home am familiar with a lot of different genetic problems etc but all I know about this particular syndrome is this also can cause some Autism which he does show signs of and mental retardation as well. Any info/help on this would be appreciated. Thanks! Kathy

but had to work w/ a fragile x boy once. I think it is more boys than girls and a chromosome problem too.

said it's a chromosal problem so I did know that as well. I am a carrier of the 9-15 chromosomal translocation but we have not had a fragile x that we know of in the family so this is something 'different' for us to deal with. Interesting how these things can happen etc. Just looking for more info..what families that have a fragile x child/grandchild etc have had to deal with..what we can possibly expect etc. Any info is wonderful on this subject! :) 3|1|my best friends son has it.....|CJDJ112366|Lintaos@optonline.net|18:43:40|02/15/2009|
