4|1|Congrats on the new job|Mackiesmudder|Mackiesmudder@aol.com|15:22:23|02/10/2009|Wow! Have only applied (recently, after quitting my last job in Sept.) to about 3 places and ended up accepting a job yesterday afternoon.
This is for a Day Care facility, I will be the Infant provider, so will be in charge of up to 4) infants at a time. The pay is very low and they don't offer any med/dental/vision, but I have coverage under my husband for that, so guess I can't worry about that at this time. They will also give me a wk's vacation after a yr. + the 90 day probationary period, so that's acceptable to me. My hrs. will be from 8am to 5 or 5:30 M/F, so hrs/days are great!
I need to go shopping today for some Khaki pants, as that is what they require us to wear along w/a logo T-shirt that they provide. I start tomorrow, training and orientation, at 9am. Oh, and I am required to complete a CDA (not sure what that stands for, but know it's something about Early Childhood Development) course, for certification, I believe. I will be going to IvyTech one night per wk., for 3 hrs. ea. session, for 40 wks., so wish me luck!! It will be a LOT of work being out of the house F/T + the schooling, plus trying to take care of pretty much everything else inside the house.....
I'm not as young as I used to be, and don't have as much energy at 51, but I *AM* looking forward to this job~it's completely different from anything I've done!!

Except I didn't need the CDA classes due to college. It's fun and will keep you busy. Get used to the sound of crying and take I suggest keeping a complete change of clothes with you as some babies can REALLY spit up.
