the word retarded around! If any of these people.....lived and walked in the shoes of myself.....and several others on this board....who have children with mental illnesses...you darn sure wouldn't be so handy to throw that word around!!!

Not an excuse tho as there are definitely damaging remarks that cannot be undone once they've been aired. It's a shame that in this day & age, there are still people who are ignorant to how inappropriate & hurtful their choice of words can be. :(
