On Craig's List, there was an ad for a typist in my local area, said had to be in metro Detroit. It stated that you work from home typing ads, get paid per ad, can do as many or as few as you want. I took the chance and sent $10 paypal for the training materials, which turned out to be a pyramid scam. You make money by placing these types of ads all over and getting others to send you $10 to get the "instructions". I am so mad at myself. I talked it over with my DH before doing it and decided $10 was worth a chance.
Of course the ad is long gone, I'm sure somebody else reported it and got it pulled. but they list all kinds of "examples" of ads that will pull in suckers like me into thinking it is a legit deal.

it happens all the time. at least this time the scammers only got $10. it could have been a LOT worse!

of junk sample letters in the mail from them, they told me to send out to people using the phone book the same b.s. ad that I fell for, and to use my own envlopes and stamps...I tossed the whole thing out..a learning lesson for me, and I know that karma will take hold of those dishonest people and they will get what they deserve back. Anything that you need to pay money for a job...is a scam...bottom line...a learning lesson for me, and I have warned others about it so possibly saved others from getting scamed themself..

You'll see they post the same ad in several cities. I always do that with craigslist job posts like that...haven't found a legit one yet for working from home :(
