Hope he feels better soon! :) I've had 2 bouts of tonsilitis in the past year so I truly sympathize w/him. Used to have it bad as a kid but hadn't had it for over 30 years when wham! It hit last year & again just a few wks. ago.
If you have a blender or malt shop, could you make or pick up Kevin some malts/shakes in the flavor he likes? My dad always brought me home those from the drug store when I was sick cuz it was so hard to eat anything that I'd easily lose alot of weight & get weak. Of course I'd get chilled after polishing off the malt/shake but it sure went down easier than food & made me feel so much better! And I'd then just snuggle up w/the heating pad under blankets (I'm a heating pad junkie). LOL
