You feel like your getting sick, or you just got sick, what natural, vitamins etc do you use to help it go away faster or just not rear it's fully ugly head????? What boosts your immune system to fight it off?? This is going to be the third time starting from October that i have gotten sick and needed to take antibiotics. For some reason, prior to The monthly visitor most of the time i have been getting hit with a cold virus, headcold, and then turns into broncitis. I know your immune system tends to go haywire at this time and i think i need to start taking something on a regular basis to boost my immune system. I also can't keep taking antibiotics every single time. anyone can help with tips, what they take etc.....Hugs, Melinda 1|1|We take Vitamin C & Echinacea....|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|11:36:01|02/02/2009|

Frequent hand-washing, getting enough sleep & healthy eating habits are your best defenses against colds & other buggers. We also take 500mg a day of Vit. C. If we somehow still manage to pick up a cold, sore throat or cough bugger, we up the Vit. C to 1,000mg a day & then add in the Echinacea besides. It helps reduce the symptoms & duration. I very seldom get a cold, etc. but my son is a germ magnet so usually ends up w/several colds or bouts of a sore throat during the school year, right after school starts every fall. This year, however, he's so far only had 1 cold! :) I'm hoping it's due to him taking the Vit. C (chewables) more faithfully. Sometimes we also seek the help of our chiropractor as the adjustments help alot to reduce the symptoms & duration.

I don't believe you're supposed to be given or take antibiotics at all for cold viruses as antibiotics don't work for any type of virus. Over-use of antibiotics can actually do more harm than good when taken unnecessarily by building up your body's resistance to the helpful benefits of antibiotics. :(

Happy New Year!

...I was going to come down with something (was feeling a "lumpy throat" for lack of a better word ha ha!!). Took some of that "Emergen-C" as soon as I felt that, and I never did get sick. Talk about some terribly gross tasting stuff (like Alka-Seltzer); first time taking it, and think I'll take it again. There was suppose to be a sample of it on-line somewhere--at least a few weeks ago--it was a "pink lemonade" flavor. The one I used was a sample; don't think it had a flavor, if it did, I couldn't detect it ha ha!!

EVERY year I usually get sick with a cold twice, one in Winter (between Nov.-Jan.), and another time in Spring (April-May). This year, who knows!!! Not looking forward to seasonal allergies, that shows up in Spring, unfortunately, whether it's mild or not.

Vitamin C and a bottle of Zinc, haven't taken the zinc yet. I slowly ate the c chewable, with my crazy allergies, plus phobia of being allergic to stuff since i am it was not easy. I had to walk over to a friends house and just sit there while i ate it, to make sure i wouldn't get a reaction to it, It was only 500, so i think i need to take another one, throat hurts and so does my head. I know i get plenty of sleep, now for my diet of what i normally eat is not good. thank you for the responses. 4|3|i take airborne|tarasdream|jumpwoman23@hotmail.com |14:26:57|02/02/2009|

Like any zinc product it has to be taken in first 24-48 hours of symptoms, but mine were cleared up in 2-3 days.
