How's everyone doing? Anything helping you stay motivated?

I joined sparkpeople (sunriver2 over there!) and am learning how to use their tools. I like it a lot, especially the food and exercise parts. It helps to see calories/carbs/fat and be able to plan my next meal ahead of time so that I do not have to think about it when I am starting to feel hungry. I discovered that I really like Cascadian farms wheat square cereal (free after coupons awhile ago, glad I have 9 boxes left, LOL!) and I add some lowfat milk and raisins and it is a great breakfast.

I also ordered a scale from Amazon because my old one is not reliable. I can't wait for the new one to get here. Oh, if anyone is in the market for one I got it for $20.xx shipped! It calculates BMI and has high ratings. If you want more info, just email me and I'll send you the link to it.

I'm dealing with a little PMS/cravings/mood swings this week. Yesterday I worked out three times (yes three!) because when I start thinking that I need chocolate, I just gotta have something NOW, I just work out instead. I am doing this Biggest Loser cardio max workout which I really like. It is hard at first (even level one) but it gets easier in that I can now do everything, but I still work up a good sweat Now I add level 2 which is an extra 10 minutes (so 40 min total). It's funny because for all of those years that I avoided exercise and told myself that I hated doing it, I am learning that the opposite is true. I like how I feel after I do it and am teaching myself that I like it. Sometimes it is hard and sometimes it hurts, but it can also be fun. I also do still have small treats (like dark chocolate, yum!), I just write it all down and calculate into my days totals. I just cut back to an extreme, like I needed to.

Can't afford to go to the meeting but I have gone so many times in the past I know the diet by hard! I have to say its been about 5 years since I have gotten motivated to eat right and it is so hard! I am not used to feeling hungry But I know once ya get used to it its ok. I have done the spark people site in the past, but because of my dial up I find it too time consuming. I printed up a calorie sheet and am doing an exchange diet, 1500 calories a day, and just fill in what I eat on that, and it works pretty well. I find I eat pretty much the same thing for breakfast and lunch each day. I am down 8 pounds so far. Wish I was doing as well as you on workouts.

It is slow sometimes, but I just clean while I wait for it to load. My computer area looks better since I have been adding to that site, LOL!

I joined Sparkpeople too, it's a neat site, but I'm still learning the ropes...I haven't been on spark all week cause I have been sick...I really need to shed some pounds, I try and try and it's like the older ya get, the harder it is to lose...You are doing awesome...Hugs, Rebekka

18lbs and 26 total body inches YIPPEE for me so doing all of that really motivated me. i go to curves however this has been a really rough week for me i have had meetings at work and couldnt go and plus we had a snow/ice storm come through so i couldnt get there for 2 days.

I'm thinking about joining Curves, I need to see how much it is and if I can work it in our budget. This is the heaviest I've ever been in my life, and the drs. think it could be a problem with my thyroid. You are doing fantastic girlie...Hugs, Rebekka

That is so awesome! I remember your post awhile ago about Curves. I thought hard about trying to join a gym here, but decided that it would just keep me from just doing it. By that I mean as soon as I couldn't cover the fees, I would just use it as an excuse and give up. So, I just started at home. I can see that a gym would be great and hope to try curves someday. I've heard really good things about it.

I hear you on the older you get...
My old knees really creak when I am moving, but I just keep going anyway. Figure that if I can shed some more pounds that will help them a lot in the long run. LOL!
Sometimes when my dd is here and I am working out she says "mom was that the wood floor or your knees?" LOL!
