i've been doing the iron pill thing but my iron is only up to 8
now I have to try estrogen (have one fibroid)
the next plan is a d&c if that does not work and I brought up the partial hysterectomy (leaving fallopian tubes)

has anyone had this kind of stuff, and can offer any input?

will the hair on my head get longer and thicker and the hair on my chinny chin chin shorter and paler? rofl 1|1|I've had night sweats since I was a teenager due to my endo....|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|20:06:28|01/29/2009|

Menopause should be a piece of cake! LOLOL
I believe that if you have your ovaries removed, you may have to take HRT (hormone replacement therapy aka estrogen therapy) for the rest of your life. I don't know how well HRT & fibroids get along, unless the fibroid is in your uterus or on your ovaries so would be removed along w/them?
I've contemplated a total hysterectomy because of my endo but because I have 2 uteruses & 2 cervixes (just the normal 2 ovaries & fallopian tubes tho, each attached to 1 uterus), it would be extremely risky surgery, not to mention having to take HRT for the rest of my life which carries its own risks. So, I've opted to forego a hysterectomy & am just biding my time w/the endo pain as best I can. Once I've gone thru menopause, the endometriosis pain should stop. :)

Happy New Year!

2|1|I think I'm heading into the next phase of premenopause....I'm actually only having a cycle every 5-6 weeks now, rather than the 2-3 weeks for the past 5 yrs.....not much of a trade off for the hotflashes, chin hairs, and weight gain! :O|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|20:20:17|01/29/2009|

I started taking prometrium a year ago. It is a bioidentical hormone. I have adenomyosis and the doctor was talking hysterectomy. For me, this has worked miracles.
