last year I struggled with depression a lot, there was really nothing in particular that caused it (I was in a really bad relationship a few years ago you might remember that) but I got over that really fast and met a great guy and I was very happy with the way my life was going. I bought my own place (I own the condo I'm not renting so the insurance was my responsibility), have a great boyfriend and job, but for some odd reason I just felt really sad. I told my parents and there response was "you have nothing to be sad about" and then I felt guilty for feeling sad and I didn't bring it up again for a while, but after time it got a lot worst. I didn't know that depression could cause really bad pain and I was hospital with stomach pain so bad I thought I had an ulcer. after many tests they said they couldn't find anything wrong and sent me home. It was awful, I was in a lot of pain, and I'd sleep all day on my days off. If I had to go to work I'd cry on my way there, I was in a lot of pain and I couldn't eat b/c my stomach hurt. I lost interest in everything and it was just the worst feeling ever. I hated the thought of getting out of bed for any reason.

My parents are very old fashioned and didn't like the idea of antidepressants (and I know I'm an adult but I was still on my dads insurance plus I didn't want them to be upset at me, I wanted them to understand what I was going through) I promised my mom I'd do my research first and I checked online, the only antidepressant that I felt comfortable trying was Wellbutrin. I showed my mom the info on it and we all agreed that it seemed safe (a lot of SSRI's have really bad side effects that last even after you stop taking them, but this was a stimulant so it works different and doesn't have any really bad side effects) I was very happy that my psychiatrist was willing to give me the meds I wanted and I started them in dec and omg what a difference. I noticed it the same day, I didn't cry for no reason, I didnt mind getting out of bed, I had energy for the first time in a year. In fact I still had boxes from when I moved into my condo that I didnt even unpack yet b/c I had no energy to do it. the first week on my meds I did so much, I cleaned my house, organized all my coupons (I had file cabnets and dressers filled with rebate/cpn things), started working out again, it was amazing I felt so much better. within the first week the stomach aches went away, I felt like a new person. everyone noticed the difference.

well my dad retired 3 days before I got robbed so I no longer have health insurance. I'm going to get it through my job but I'll have to wait at least 6 months before I can get it so for now there's nothing eles I can do. I called the pharmacy to see if they could refill them but since I don't have insurance anymore it would be something close to $200 a bottle. it's awful b/c I need them now more then ever, although I don't know if any pill could help me with how i'm feeling right now. There's a lot of ironic things that happend, like my meds getting stolen days after I no longer have insurance, them destroying my house after I had finally cleaned and organized everything, I had just bought a safe a few days before just to be safe and they forced me at gunpoint to open it so I would have been better off hiding my money and important things then putting it in the safe but I bought it in case friends come over (i'm parinoid, I like to take every precaution, I've been robbed before but it wasn't anything major, like i'd have friends over and realize $30 was missing from my purse so that's why I got the safe)

I'm so scared. angry. confused. I just keep thinking why did they pick me?? normally when people get robbed the suspects know you have something of value--I mean they are risking there lives either by getting shot by the homeowner or spending a long time in jail--- so why would they risk there life stealing from a girl who doesn't really have much to begin with, I mean computers and video games but a lot of people have that. I dont have expensive jewelry or clothes or drive a nice car, I dont have a lot of money, I never show off with expensive things (quite the opposite I brag when I get a good deal lol) I dont have plasma tvs or lots of high tech things. most of mine were 2nd hand or freebies from freecycle or craigslist anyway, add that to the fact i'm by the police and that makes me really confused. I was never afraid of being robbed b/c I felt safe in my neighborhood (its a nice area) and I didn't think that I had anything people would be after. It was payday on the day I was robbed, so maybe someone that saw me before in my work uniform knew the day we get paid and figured I'd have money? that's really the only thing I could think of... 1|1|I'm so sorry you have to go through all this...|RebekkaVA|queen_vulture@msn.com|13:28:29|01/27/2009|

Depression is terrible and it can really takes it's toll on a person. Is there a way you can contact the drug company that makes your prescription? They may be able to send you some free, I know alot of people that have contacted companies and have gotten free meds, it's worth a try. As for being robbed, I was robbed before and it's a horrible feeling and always leaves so many unanswered questions. Maybe they were casing your place for awhile, these days I don't think it matters what kind of neighborhood you live in or if you live near the police, people are desperate and will do anything and it's very scary out there. I wish there was something I could do for you. Hugs, Rebekka

This exact thing happened to my Aunt's house a night after I stayed there watching the house for her.
It turned out to be her ex.
Very scary. Very traumatizing. The mess took forever to clean.
With your history of depression, the PTSD that Jodie talked about is a very real threat.
It took me a while to get over it at my Aunt's as I was the one who found it the next morning.
Take care of yourself.

It sounds like they thought I had money or something valuable that they wanted. I'm thinking it was some kind of either mistaken identity or maybe they were looking for someone who used to live there before me or they had the wrong house. I had friends steal from me before but I knew who they were and just stopped talking to them. that was minor and that was a long long time ago. the person who stole from me moved to CA anyway so I know its not him. I highly doubt it's my ex b/c he doesnt know anyone here (I met him the week he moved here and the only people he knew were my friends that i introduced him to) and besides he moved away a while ago so I dont think it's him.

pretty much when I first moved into my condo I wanted to have friends over all the time because I was so happy that I could finally have friends over to hang out (my parents were very strict and usually I couldnt have friends over, I couldnt even sleep over a girl friends house) so it was fun for me to have freedom to do what i wanted, for a while. but after a while I realized a lot of people I thought were friends really weren't my friends and just using me so I cut off contact with a lot of people. people took advantage because i had a car, job and my own place and they wanted to have there friends over and party and that's just not for me.

so I pretty much cut off contact with a lot of people. I have my bf and maybe 2 other people I'm close with and I really lost contact with everyone eles because I didn't go out to places that I used to. (i'd spend lots of time at the mall and at concerts on weekends) but now All I really do is work and enjoy my time at home. My idea of a fun night is just staying home w/ my bf and watching movies, playing games, cooking dinner or playing with my kittens :) So other then my other 2 friends that Im sure werent part of this I can't really think of who/why someone would do this to me. its been almost a year since I'd have a lot of people at my house. I doubt anyone even remembered where I live. plus why would they rob me? I didnt even have most of what was stolen when I moved into my place, i didnt have anything to steal lol. (my bf gave me 1 of the mac mini computers that was stolen, the xbox was his too and nobody knew i had the laptop i kept it hidden in the closet if i had ppl over) and as far as I know I don't have any enemies, i'm a nice person, I wasn't rude to anyone, I never kicked anyone out, but I lost everyones ph# when i lost my phone last year, and changed my # so I had no way for them to contact me and I knew that was a good thing b/c im done with parties & ppl that wanted to come over just to have a place to "hang out" but not b/c they really liked being my friend, now I just want quiet peaceful time at home now so I pretty much started over and just kept in contact with my best friends that i've known since middle school and that's it. so thats why i'm so confused. 11|2|Maria, I am so very sorry to hear of this. It does however sound "personal." Most robbers don't take the time to stab the mattress. That is what the Police Officers told me when I came to my Aunt's house and discovered the same kind of mess you described. Thank god I arrived after they left. Can you go back to your doc and ask for more samples with the police report handy?

http://www.gskforyou.com/12_programs.htm

Try PPA or call GSK to see if they can do anything for you.

I know you like the Wellbutrin, but maybe they can find something cheaper for you...

Your robbery sounds very weird. I do hope they find the perps and their laissez faire attitude with a police station nearby smacks of confidence. I am truly glad you all were not killed. Are you sure you haven't seen those guys around? From what it sounds like, they might have cased your place. I hope you have all the locks changed, changed all your online passwords and I know you don't have the bucks right now, but you should think about a credit alert.

Would your homeowner's cover any of this? Like medical bills for your beat up boyfriend, stolen medication? Credit reporting? My home owners has a rider for identity theft and I think that is getting fairly standard these days. Just a thought.. check with your homeowner agent.

I'm going to call my bank and find out what kind of insurance I have. I do have a morgage. I hope they will cover something. I heard about a company called victims advocate that helps crime victims but they said the only thing they cover is if you had to go to the hospital due to the crime and don't have insurance. we were hurt but nothing that required hospitalization so pretty much they were not able to help me. 6|3|you had to buy the insurance but NO bank makes a loan without homeowners insurance they have to protect their asset, the payment is IN your loan |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|14:25:57|01/27/2009|

Call your local health department and tell them what happened. Tell them your meds were stolen and you do not have insurance and cannot afford to get more. They should be able to either help you directly or they should know who can in your community. Some communities have emergency funds (ours here is set up through a trust that the Elks run) and they can help with one time emergency situations. It may take a few organizations working together to cover that large of an amount, but it should not be impossible. It may take many phone calls though, so keep paper/pen handy and write down whatever they say. The health department is a good place to start because they should know who to go to.

I am so sorry! There is nothing to be ashamed of for having depression. The important thing is that you get help. Hang in there and keep us all updated because we care.
Vanessa 7|1|Lil kitty - -- if you have a mortgage, your bank forced you to get homeowners (at least to insure their loss in case of fire, act of God, etc.) Didn't you get a policy in the mail or at closing? You should have. But many times homeowners does cover burglary and honestly, medicine you can't replace is probably as valuable to you as a TV they walked off with, kwim? Your doc can vouch for your pills. You probably have a deductible though... but still. Dig through every single photo you took recently at your house or your friends took and that will show the insurance company what you had and what is now gone. Did you buy anything on credit cards? You can probably trace things back that way too.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|14:46:51|01/27/2009|

right after all this happend the csi people were in my house for a long time taking finger prints and photos of how bad my house was destroyed. Do you think they will let me see the pictures that were taken as proof of the damage that was done? it was a real big mess you couldn't see an inch of the floor and most of what was left behind had to be thrown out, it was just disguisting i felt embarassed to have anyone see it. they kicked over the kitty litter box and that stuff was all over the floor. and there were glass bottles broken on the floor and it was just awful. If they could give me the pics they took that might help for insurance proposes (if i have insurance)? 9|3|police report will probably be enough |sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|15:25:12|01/27/2009|

I was out of contract though, I went to t-mobile to see if i could get a new phone and they said to keep my # it would cost $100 or I could get a free phone and change my #. so I'm debating on what to do, I know I can get a free phone somewhere eles AND keep my # so I think i'm just going to switch providers. I'm not worried about the phone much, more importantly the phone #'s and pictures in my phone are what i miss the most :(

I wanted to keep my # in case someone was trying to get in touch with me (although I dont have many friends but I never know who's trying to call ) plus my mom made me 500 bussiness cards w/ my cell # on it for xmas so I want to try to keep my number but I'm not too worried about it right now, I'm going to try to get a cell on thurs though, I didnt realize how lost I was without it :(

About your meds: don't stop them cold turkey! Go into your Drs and tell them what happened. They usually have samples to give out and I'm sure they will give you some.

We were robbed over our honeymoon (14 years ago). They hit the garage and took ALL hubby's tools, RC car etc. Then they came back 3 weeks later and hit the house. Got computers, my jewelery (mother's wedding ring was one of the items), hubby's stereo which was the only thing worth anything. It was devistating. I left that morning with my mom to go shopping and came home at 3. They must have just left before I came in-our juice was on the kitchen table and was still cold. It's scary to think what could have happened if I'd walked in on them.

We never recovered anything.

Your experience is much worse and my heart goes out to you. Take care of yourself and my thoughts are with you...

your phone should be covered under your home owner's insurance policy as well as it is a possession. you really need to file a claim with your insurance, you'll be surprised what you'll be able to replace i'm sure.
