My hubby and I want to plan a beach vacation for the last week in June. We have NEVER been to a beach and have an 8-year old and a 2-year-old. We want the East Coast only as we will be driving from WV. I have had money taken out from each paycheck and put into a "vacation" fund so we can afford to go somewhere. We usually just go on small overnight trips camping, the zoo, or waterpark, but this year we REALLY, REALLY, need something a little more. Any suggestions?

It's in the panhandle. VERY family oriented, priced reasonably. Warm water, easier current than on the east coast (Daytona, etc). White sand beaches. Lots of family things to do (We took DS on a pirate cruise-2 hours that he still talks about)

There is a beautiful beach at Sandbridge that runs parallel with the tourist beach on the ocean at Virginia Beach. It is more family oriented and you can rent a cottage for a week or longer. You can call Seibert Realty at Sandbridge Beach to get the rates. Check them out. There is also lots of other things to do and great places to eat.
