i make copies of the rebate and the reciept and keep it all in a folder and then in a note book i right down the name of it the amount the address the phone number and PMB # or whatever its called and the date that i sent it in

I keep mine in an excel spreadsheet with the following info:
Column 1--Name of Rebate
Column 2- Value of Rebate and this column keeps a running total so you know the $ value of how much you have sent off
Column 3--Value Received and this column keeps a running total so you know exactly how much you receive
Column4--Value-Other is for things received other than money (Coupons and etc) and it also totals the balance that you are waiting for which is the difference between Column 2 and Column 3
Column5--Date Mailed
Column 6--Date you Receive
May sound complicated but is very simple once you get the spread sheet set up and it is so easy to see exactly what and when you sent something off and how long it takes to receive from the date you mail plus it lets you know how much $ you do rebating in a year. I do a spread sheet for each year and I also make a copy and put in a notebook and when received I throw that away.
I started out writing mine in a notebook but it was too much trouble so DH designed the spreadsheet for me and it takes a lot less time than writing it out.
I do my trades the same way except a different spreadsheet.

I add separate columns for the address. That way, I can sort by box # to make sure I haven't already done the rebate. I love Excel!

it's called PDBASE and can be downloaded for free at pdbase.com and then upgraded wit the full version for $9.99.
i use the "business" section for rebates and the "personal" section for all of my other addresses and such.
you can enter the name of the rebate, the addy, the the amount, when you sent it out, the exp date, the pmkd or rcvd by date, and any other pertinant information to help you figure out what that way-ward check is for. lol there is also a "search" feature so you can look up a rebate by key words or numbers (such as program numbers on cms checks) instead of having to flip through a rolodex or notebook. i LUV it!

4|1|I was using the address book method, writing down the offer info in there and crossing it off when I recieved....I got an all-in-one printer/scanner when I got this computer a few months ago and have started making a copy by scanning everything then saving it to a flashdrive...when I recieve, I move that file to another folder on the flashdrive labeled "Received"....I love this new paper-less system! :D|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:32:28|01/26/2009|

Writing them all down in a notebook. ;) I write what I'm supposed to receive, what the offer is, where it goes, what I sent, when I sent, when it has to be pm'd or rec'd by & any other pertinent info (contact #, etc.), & then I go over it w/a yellow highlighter when I receive it (I just also started making a note in red ink by each offer when it was rec'd so I can gauge about how long each offer takes, for future reference). I manage to squeeze all that info into 1 line. LOL I do the same w/my trades, except I have 1 notebook for NAZ & trade details & username & a 2nd notebook I keep email addys along w/name & state in. I do make copies of everything for any offer that's $10+ or if it's an "iffy" clearing house. I know how to use both Excel & Access so I'm just going to have to give in & start a spreadsheet one of these days I guess..... Old habits die hard tho. LOL
