22 0|0|I was just robbed at gunpoint....|lilkitty|love2refund@yahoo.com|22:34:31|01/25/2009|

omg I can't believe what happend to me. Last week I was comming home from work, bringing my groceries upstairs with my boyfriend when 4 guys came out of nowhere pushed us inside and pulled out guns. they tied us up, duct taped us, and stole everything from my house. they took our cell phones, 2 laptops, a mac mini computer, xbox360, digital cam, ipod, flashdrives, and just about everything they could get there hands on. ironically I had just bought a safe and i felt better knowing i had my expensive things locked up, but of course they found the safe and forced me at gunpoint to open it. they even took my stockpiles of everything (I sell some stuff at the swap meet when i need extra cash, and donate the rest ) it was an awful vicious attack, i can't believe this happend to me. I dont know why anyone would target me, i have no idea who they could be, I cant understand why.

Last year was really rough for me, i got really sick and was in the hospital a lot, they couldn't find out what was wrong. they finally found out the stomach aches were from stress/depression and put me on wellbutrin in dec, i got better right away and finally felt happy and was able to start living life again, and i was lucky that i they gave me a 6-month supply of it because begining in Jan my dad retired and i dont have insurance. sure enough my meds were stolen too and i can't afford to get them again b/c i no longer have insurance

I just can't believe it, they took my keys so i didnt even have my car keys, i couldnt go anywhere, i couldnt lock them out b/c they had my house keys, they took my house phones and cell so i had to run around asking someone for a phone to get help, omg what a nightmare. I keep thinking im going to wake up because this is just too crazy to be real. my friend came over while this was happening and they tied her up and stole everything from her too. I just moved in that home not long ago and i didnt have insurance yet. I thought it was a safe area, theres even a police station right downstairs. i dont understand how these people made many many trips from my home to my car right in front of the police and nobody thought it was strange that they were carrying plastic bags of things from someplace they dont live in. they weren't in a hurry at all, they even ate food right out of my fridge in front of me. they talked on there phones, sat down, smoked cigs in my home, they were relaxed like they've been doing this there whole life. I watched them punching my boyfriend and it broke my heart, hes the sweetest guy ever, he'd never hurt anyone and we were cooperating with them but they still hurt us. im just so scared right now. I seriously thought i was going to die that night.

overall im just really glad we survived and im trying to move on but its so hard. my entire house was pretty much destroyed, they broke my bedframe, stabbed mattress, everything that was on a shelf or drawer was dumped on the floor, spilled and broke, you couldnt even see an inch of the floor it was all covered with things that spilled off the shelf. I rescue cats and I couldnt find my baby kitten for hours after the attack and i was so scared that she was buried under all the stuff but luckily I found her so i really consider myself lucky that everyone survived but what an ordeal. I'm sorry I really needed to vent, i lost the #'s of all my friends so i couldn't even let them know what happend and i have nobody else to talk to about this. I really don't know what to do first, im so upset i can't think straight. thank you for listening to me. 1|1|OMG, I'm so sorry, that is awful|Mackiesmudder|Mackiesmudder@aol.com|23:15:52|01/25/2009|

no they took every computer that i had in the home. I am at work right now so that's how im able to get online. I had all my personal info on my computers and my laptop was on when they took it so they changed my password before they shut it down so they could log in themselves. I couldnt go to work for a few days b/c i didnt have car keys or a phone to call someone for a ride or even money to get anywhere and i was just too upset to do anything. todays my first day back at work so i was able to get online and try to get in contact with people. luckily my dad let me use his laptop the day after it happend to change my paypal and banking passwords, im so luck they hadn't gotten into my bank account yet. 5|1|How Terrifying!!!|Gail_O|gailandlarryondrej@gmail.com|12:26:16|01/26/2009|

I can not imagine going through something like that. You stated you had to run around and find a phone, why wasn't the police stationyou say is in the same building you first place to go? Also, what did the police say? You say they were loading your car with your stuff, did you already get your car back? 6|1|OMGOSH THIS IS AWFUL !!! sorry they wern't loading my car, they took my car keys but not my car (I kinda wish they did it would make it easier to find them) so i had to change the lock on my car before i was able to drive. the police station is attached to the office of my condo and oddly enough that overlooks the parking lot, I was scared to death though, i didnt know if they were still down there somewhere, maybe watching to see if I'd go to the cops so i want to go there. theres no news story that i know of, but they havent caught them yet. I hope they do as thats the only way i may get some of what i lost back. if they get caught and i press charges they have to pay us restitution (I think thats how its spelled?) if they dont find them then there's nothing eles I can do. I haven't heard from the detective yet, I'll let you know if I hear any news. I hope they find them, i cant sleep thinking they may come back, im so scared 9|4|this is a condo? you own or rent ?|sneakers1234|ross417@msn.com|14:58:25|01/26/2009|

this is really horrible and i have a strong feeling it is going
to get alot worse, some people are so mean and will go to any
means to get what they want at your expense instead of getting
a job and working, they would rather take what you have, did you
recognize any of them, they probably have visited someone in
your building before, good luck to you

I live in California...and earlier in January, or possibly late Dec., several Police Cars were broken into right in the lot of the Police Station. Think this happened in Martinez, CA?? The person/people stole firearms (shotgun/handgun??), and they were never caught as far as I know. Can't remember if a security camera was there, but doubt it...it was a fenced in/locked lot...and the person/people cut right through the fencing and apparently smashed windows to get into the vehicles I guess!! Talk about bold, huh!! : (

Maybe in the next 30-45 days, you should try checking your local pawn shops...you never know, maybe those fools will try to sell your property--and they can get busted that way??? Hope things work out for (((you/bf))).

I really think they had a lot of evidence so im surprised they havent caught them yet. they had lots of finger prints from the things they touched, the door, a knife that they left behind, duct tape, etc. they werent wearing gloves, plus I had the serial # of everything stolen, they took 5 cell phones and cops had the #'s and were supposed to ping the phones to see where they were. I dont understand why they havent found them yet. im not sure how long things like that usually take, but it seems like they don't care about it b/c every time i call the detective on the case he doesnt answer and ive left lots of messages and nothing yet. and I asked at the police station if they had security cameras facing the parking lot and they said no. thats crazy, of all places you think they would have them there right?

i'm in florida by the way. 17|3|Maybe it's some kind of sting operation.....|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|21:24:52|01/26/2009|

If there's been a rash of large robberies such as yours, maybe there's more involved than a "typical" robbery, kwim? Maybe there's some kind of robbery "biz" operation w/more people involved than just the ones who robbed you & the cops are trying to get to the root of it. If that's the case, they're going to keep mum as much as possible about their investigation lest word gets back to the ones involved. From what you described about the robbers taking their leasurely time, not seemingly bothered by the fact that the cop shop was basically right next door & pretty much clearing you completely out, it was either a "professional" job or yes, maybe the cops may very well be in on it themselves. :( If the cops aren't in on it, then I would think they'd feel pretty humiliated & foolish to have such a thorough & time-consuming robbery take place like that right under their noses, or should I say, right above their noses!

Happy New Year!

wow i'm amazed that you had all of those serial numbers written down i'm never that organized or would never think of doing something like that. I cant believe that if you live in a condo that no one saw these people stealing your stuff and didnt get suspicious as to what was going on?? I would hope that my neighbors or passerbyers would be more aware.

I hope you get some of your stuff or all of it back.

20|2|So sorry this happened, maybe anyone who saw the robbers, with as calm as you say they were acting, thought they were just some people moving in or out of the building and that is why they got away with it for such a long amount of time.|doycosmo|eddie2kevin@tampabay.rr.com|07:30:17|01/27/2009|

get some help dealing with this from a professional. Such a trauma could easily lead to PTS or PTSD, and I would think especially more so because you are prone to depression. Even if you are feeling like you are getting through this, it doesn't hurt to have someone talk to you who has dealt with this before. PTS or PTSD can have a delayed onset; it can come around years down the road if your feelings & emotions aren't dealt with now.

Sorry, I don't mean to scare you...I've just read a LOT about PTSD recently, and it can be debilitating.

I am sorry this happened to you. Scary scary. Makes me want to cry cause I can just imagine how scared you must have been. Take care.
