5|3|They are meatballs made with rice in the meat so after they cook the rice sticks out all over and they look like little porcupines :D You cook them in tomato sauce or tomato soup either on the stovetop or in the oven....super easy if you'd like the recipe, I could post it :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:05:52|01/25/2009|
"Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy." 7|4|I'd sure like that recipe! :)|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|17:28:11|01/25/2009|
Sounds yummy & altho I know I've heard of it before, I haven't been able to try it yet due to lack of recipe. LOL From the little bit you've mentioned so far tho, it sounds like CJ will actually like everything that's included. ;)
Thanks! :)

11|5|Easy cheesy, lemon squeezy! Recipe inside|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:50:48|01/25/2009|
1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 c long grain rice or brown rice (if using brown rice, increase cooking time by about 15 mins)
salt and pepper
1/2 medium onion, minced
Mix all the above together, form meatballs (I make mine about 2 1/2 inch diameter)...place in skillet or baking pan in a single layer
1 can tomato soup OR 1 can (15oz) of tomato sauce
3/4 c water
1 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 tbs brown sugar
Mix all the above and pour over the meatballs. If cooking in a skillet, brown the meatballs a bit before adding sauce. If cooking in the oven, just pour the sauce on the uncooked meatballs. To cook in the skillet, cover and simmer on low for about 50 mins or until rice is cooked.
If baking in oven, cover pan with foil, bake at 375 for about 1 1/2 hours or until rice is cooked. I will also add another 1/2 cup of rice or so to the baking pan (just sprinkle it over the meatballs) and make a double batch of sauce to have a 'side dish' of rice with the meatballs.
Joy :)

18|2|I remember cooking in summer school when I was in like 4th or 5th grade.....|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|20:18:58|01/25/2009|
We made liver sticks (small strips of liver rolled in Shake 'n Bake & fried), mini pizzas (using saltine crackers, ketchup, pieces of cheese & chili powder, which I still make & my son just loves!) & homemade butterscotch pudding. LOL I don't mind beef liver too much but it definitely tastes much better w/Shake 'n Bake. ;) Haven't had liver in ages tho come to think of it.....
